Crossfire comes to Southwestern Ohio
Greetings friends,
At age 64 I've been automotively obsessed since the days when my brothers and I were on our hands and knees with our Matchbox Toys.
With used car prices generally so high right now I decided recently to sell my 2017 Ford Focus ST with 66,000 miles. In it's place I've purchased a 2007 base model Crossfire Coupe, 6 speed manual, with less than 12,000 miles for significantly less than I'll get for the ST.
Observations over my first week:
1. Even though the Ford has more horsepower, somehow transitioning back to a rear-wheel drive car simply feels more spirited.
2. I'm 6'2" and had worried about leg and head room, but I've found the comfortable sweet spot where the seat-back angle allows me to get the seat low enough and back far enough to genuinely work
Some problems with the car:
1. The fuel gauge is totally non-functional
2. The glove-box door doesn't want to stay latched
3. The heating-cooling fan control is non-functional
4. No owner's manual.
I think I have a shop in the greater-Cincinnati area that will work on the car, but if any of you know of a reliable place in my area, I'd be grateful. I'm happy to have stumbled onto the forum. I'll know where to come when I have questions.

Hi James,
We're in Warren County, about three miles from Kings Island.
Do you do your own maintenance work on the Crossfire or have you found a local service shop that is familiar with the car?

Welcome to the Crossfire family, there is a good group of Crossfire owners in and around Ohio, in fact there is a Crossfire weekend "event" happening in Athens Ohio June 2-5 2022. James1549 from this forum is very knowledgeable as well. Hope to see you on the road sometime.
I'm in Northern Kentucky and I've used Ken's Auto Repair in Alexandria for run of the mill work like filter, oil change etc, and I used him for brake, rotor, and brake line replacement. Does good work. Right after I bought my Crossfire and before I knew about Ken's, I used a shop over in Burlington, Ky. called Superior Imports. The big man there and his help are all Mercedes Specialists. Very good work but a little pricey but you get your moneys worth there. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom!
I'll look for the details on the Athens weekend and see what Lynn thinks about it. If nothing else I'll be alert to there being Ohio tied Crossfire events.
