Default Hello.. new member

Hello ,
KW Rowe here from Texas. I have wanted a Crossfire since the Apprentice gave one away on its first season. I accidentally came across a 2005 Limited, 59,000 miles. Dark silver car that has been garage kept. The convertable top looks brand new. Paint is a close to flawless as a 19 year old car can be. The owner, 4the owner, passed away and his friend is selling. Over the years i have purchased many cars and i know where to and what to look for. This car is pretty my a 9 out of a 10 through my eyes. Then i go to the reviews and youtube. Back windows falling out etc. Can someone help me with the decision to buy this car. Asking is 10k and will take 9500.00. I was really surprised to see the love hate relationship on this, what i consider a beautiful vehicle... Thank you in advance for any help or opinions. Keith

If you like it, $9,500 is a good price. Good Luck

You're right the rear window coming unglued is a common problem along with a few other small things that will need to be addressed but the car and ownership is well worth it. If you can do some of the mechanical work that comes up from time to time you'll save money, myself I enjoy working on mine. Look at it this way it's a opportunity if your a car person.

They are fun cars, but they are pushing 20 years old now. Mine has 22,000 miles my window is still good, garage kept. The sun/heat destroys the glue on the window. A new top cost under $900 dollars. I have to say 20 years for a soft top seems pretty good. They are very dependable cars but at 20 years old you can have an issue here and there. Most of the issues have easy solutions. I say easy because many good people on this forum have figured them out. Diagnosing is the hard part.
I would say if you always wanted one get it. I don't think you will be disappointed.

I paid more for my 2006 base roadster. Even though it came with "Farrder" black paint. (The "Farrder" away, the better it looks).
Seriously, love mine. The happiness it has brought me was worth every penny!
Go for it!

Lots of Naysayers out there, KW. To be honest, the car is rock solid with a few areas to be aware of. Preventive Maintenance is a law of Physics. Obey it like Gravity.

if you are a car guy, and know cars bring happiness…….Well?

all cars are selling slow………Do an inspection, or have one done. Adjust offer price.

Enjoy the ride………..lots of happy around here.

I have driven Crossfires for just over 16 years and been on this forum nearly as long
I had a 2004 Coupe for 11 years and put 94000 miles on it with only the need for a fuel pump.
I now have a 2005 Aero Blue Roadster with a 6 Speed and have had it for 6 years also with a few minor repairs and I have driven it 40000 miles over 6 years.
From what you described here it sounds like a car you should buy.....I'm sure you will thoroughly enjoy it !!!

And those of us that own a Coupe won't hold anything against you for buying a Roadster!

Isn’t there a law against driving on a sidewalk. It’s a beautiful picture. What building is that anyway?

Building is the BMW Zentrum (sort of a visitors museum) which is located at the BMW Plant in Upstate SC. I went in & asked if I could take a few pictures of my Coupe on their sidewalk & they said yes. Between the car & the building is a water pool with various fountains.

No need to apologize Hatinana………..you are far ahead of us with your language skills.

And you had good sense to choose a fine piece of engineered magic.

Welcome CaptainComando,
You have made a great choice and will find may people will stop ask about your. I have 2005 Roadster in red and I continually have people make very positive remarks and ask all types of questions. It is a joy to drive on the backroads of Connecticut. We will have to connect up sometime I live in Hebron.
Cheers & enjoy
