New Member, Virginia X-Fire Owner Checking In
Hey, there. This resource is incredible and a very valuable find! I just purchased a 2004 coupe w/ 28K miles. The mechanicals all look to be in tip-top shape and the car appears to have been garage kept and loved, if not driven very much. The CarFax says only one owner from for 19 years, then two one-year tours w/ subsequent owners before me (bought by a dealer at auction then sold to me days later). I'm an about-to-retire government worker and while I did my time as a younger man turning a wrench on my old cars, I've become spoiled and lazy and let professional mechanics do the work. I have a scientific background and academic training, so technical information isn't completely over my head. I'd love to meet up w/ other Northern Virginia X-fire owners for coffee or whatever. I also welcome any NoVa mechanic recommends and other tips and tricks to keep the X-Fire running smoothly. Brand new to this car club thing and a recovering motorbike enthusiast also (''50s BSAs, various Jap and Italian numbers, FJR, V-Rod, and Gold Wings) - just too old to cope w/ the crazy traffic these days. Thanks for the add.

Welcome, Your Crossfire is mechanically a 2004 Mercedes SLK320, unless it is the supercharged SRT-6. Your best bet for service and repair is an Independent Import shop that works on Mercedes. Forget about dealers because there is a lot of bad blood because of the Chrysler Mercedes merger.
The mechanical parts are rebranded Mercedes. The body and interior parts are one ff Chrysler and are mostly eBay only. Great info here:

Welcome to the forum and Crossfire ownership
Fun cars for sure and rare compared to most other cars
I have been enjoying mine since 2007 and been here that long too
You are fortunate to find one with low miles and only a few previous owners
I'm sure you will enjoy it for a long time
