MD/DC/VA Meet... at Sugarloaf Mt. (sign up)
Is there any other way to let us know that these things are happening?
I'd loved to have done that run, I've been up and down Sugarloaf quite a few times. Perhaps we could do it again in the fall and then cruise to the Olney, Maryland Cruise In on Saturday Night. Lots of nice cars, hot rods etc. Please let me know next time.

Pat, sorry I should have sent you a private message about this. Unfortunately, I couldn't make the run myself, it's like grand central station around my house this month. Friends and family heading north and south pop in for a visit while on their travels up and down the east coast.
I think we need to find/develop a mailing list for this region. First, I'd really like to see who's still "in" and "out" in general. But more importantly, I'd like to see if we can communicate more actively. As you can see this thread has been going for a while, but you were unaware, that's a shame.
FYI, while I was otherwise occupied on Saturday, I felt bad missing the trip, so I ran up to Sugarloaf on Sunday after noon to escape my wife's "tea" (no kidding) with the Daughters of the American Revolution at my house. Two things I found, first the Comus Inn is still open (I thought it was closed), and is a great place to meet to do this run...sufficient parking lot and might be a good place to have breakfast or brunch to start or finish a run.
Second, this run was pretty unencumbered by traffic, mostly back roads, however, I'd really like to modify it to cross over into VA and run down to the blue ridge. Great roads for the Crossfire; some fast sections and lots of corners.
Did you guys follow the directions I posed or did you alter the run?

Thanks 22blk05xfire for the pics. you can really tell when were goin' down the mountain.
Also you can see my house in the last pic. well the roof anyway.
Sennespirit... glad to see you could get out of the house for a while and have some fun.
Anyway about the Comus Inn let me tell you a little about that... I'll start off by telling everyone that I worked their and the price for brunch is/was about $40.00 a person and $50.00 a person for lunch and $65.00 a person for dinner. And on top of that the food isn't to die for. As for meeting their the owner wouldn't even try an consider letting a bunch of crossfires meet their unless they where all buying something.
As for your route We followed it to Point of Rocks then Sieglet took over and me and 22blk05xfire followed them for the remainder of the day.

04,
That's why I post these bizarre ideas, I get real world feedback from those who know.
I actually went in to have a look and it looks that they've completely remodeled the place. I haven't been there in about 16 years.
There was a winery just up the road (Comus Rd.) but then again, a winery and road trips don't necessarily mix (or do they, if in moderation).
Sorry again for my wacky schedule, would have loved to do the run, you guys really needed a touch of Blue (Aero that is!) in that group. Let's look to the end of Sept for another attempt. As Pat (patpur) noted, we'll have to try and be a bit more proactive and get the word out aggressively.

Ya... the Comus Inn got a complete remodel that took 4yrs and a total cost of over $4,000,000... none of which was invested into the food... to put it nicely.
The winery just opened last spring and from what I've seen they did a great job... not sure how good the wine is as I'm still 19...
Hopefully next time we can get the whole Crossfire rainbow... nothing like watching different color Crossfire's flying down 70 at 100 mph+ (right sieglet and 22blk50xfire
yea that is right 04fire we were pushing it real nice on 70 when the ‘89 mustang (LOL) tried to get into it with us man you are a good driver 04fire we can ride together any day.

Actually, it was 340 we were on when we approached triple digits on our way to Antietam.
But either way, I completely agree. More colors and more Xfires are definitely needed. And I was thinking not 100+ mph, but more along the lines of Mach 2.
Dave - don't worry about it. 04 Fire is right about Comus Inn. Pretty place but its not what it was. Like 04 said the food is pretty expensive now and while I haven't eaten there I haven't heard good things from people who have. There are a lot of other possibilities in that area like maybe Peter Pan/Cracked Claw for crabs or some of the places in Frederick. Is the winery Boordy Vineyards? We used to go up there and get sloshed in the tasting room. I don't know if they are still in business.

And I'd have to agree with you on mach 2... man that sprint booster got me there alot quicker than expected!
Patpur,
I've never heard of the Boordy Vineyards but that doesn't mean that it's not here somewhere.
The Vineyard I was referring to is just down the road from the comus inn. As noted, it looked brand spanking new. I have a card somewhere around here, I'll post it when I find it.
