Hi all,

I'm new to the forum, and bought an '05 limited in nov. '06 drove it for a couple of weeks and put it away for the winter. Its killing me not to drive it. There is a windscreen on ebay the only one there, is it any good or should I look else where.

WINDSCREEN SURROUND CHROME = this is the chrome strip around the windshield, and WINDSCREEN wind blocker = goes behind the seats for the roadster.

Here are three I found on e-bay. There are others out there that include lighting. Follow the thread on wind blockers, and you will find other choices. Or, just wait a bit and you will get a bunch of alternatives from other members. They're great. Zeracer has a real nice one, check with him as well.

I bought a windscreen on ebay with the velcro straps that attach to the roll bar. It's nice, does the job, and is well made. I have had not issues with it, and it was custom made for my car. It's the second link. The best, price, as well. I live in the Northwest and have not removed the windscreen even with the top up. I like it because it blocks the wind that comes in from the roll bar area. It's very quiet and keeps the temps comfortable when the sun goes down.

I think the lighted wind screens look great, but the price is a bit more than I wanted to spend.

Mopar windscreens are said to be nice, as well. I like the fact that I can remove my windscreen in less than a minute and I don't have to drill any holes.

I purchased my windscreen from Chrysler ~ it attaches to the roll bar with velcro straps. I used 'industrial strength velcro' to mount the base <vice drilling holes> for the windscreen and that works very well. For storage purposes the Chrysler windscreen comes with a storage bag. I keep mine on at all times ~ top up or down ~ all in all ~ I suspect any one you purchase will work.

Cool Re: windscreen info needed

My 2 cents...
Having looked at many different versions, I (IMHO) think the Factory Chrysler version is the best.
Look closely at the edges of the PLASTIC (vs LEXAN) that some show. Some look like they went to the hardware store and bought the material and cut it with a jigsaw.
The MOPAR version has radiused smooth edges and a nice center support channel that keeps it from deflecting/warping.
NO, I don't have one...
only because I like the breeze blowing my neck hair up on my bald head!!

PS: This should be in the Roadster Section. This Section is to post things significant to areas of the world such as GTGs and such.

I will probably get this one. There's no holes to drill. You use the existing holes for the umbrella holders. But I will look into the lighted ones too.

FP...I know of other XFire owners on the "other" board that this model windscreen will rattle & shake at speeds over 60 mph. The Mopar windscreen is a far better product, and the fit and finish is much better...IMHO.

I've looked at a few of the windscreens as well. I think I'm going to go with the Mopar version.
