Total Catastrophic Failure
Total Catastrophic Failure
Hi, I'm new to the forum, I'm twenty years old and I've owned my crossfire for almost two years. I bought it in March of 07 with 32000 miles on it and it now has 60500 miles on it and within the past week the vehicle has done everything but break down on me. I'll tell the story.
About a week ago my check engine light went on. It was no big deal, the car drove the same, so I did not worry about it. However, the next day it started shaking while sitting at traffic lights. A few days later, the car would not respond to the gas pedal at all, it would just sit there for about 5 or 6 seconds and the shaking proceeded to get worse. Yesterday on November 11th, I got the car's codes read and took it into the dealership. It turns out that both the O2 sensors are failing, there are multiple cylinder misfires, and my gear ratio is incorrect. Those are the codes that came off of the computer, and the dealership is currently investigating the problem. I've babied that car, gotten its oil changed, put good gas in it, and I rarely drive it aggressively considering my driving record. I just can't understand how the car could depreciate so badly in such a short period of time.
Can anyone relate or give me some sort of answers? I love my car, and I need to know what is really going on here.

Hey there Kit Fox! How ya doin'?
First off you waited too long till you got the codes read.
Looks like its time to do a little maintenance. Starting with those O2 sensors.
Do that, check for codes and go from there. The O2's can definitely cause the car to run poorly.
Now fix that car!
