oh, i also ordered a keychain and totebag with our logo on it, just to see what they look like. They both turned out very cool, but the keychain is a little big for me to use. I dont like alot of stuff in my pocket. So i'm going to put my spare key on it, or something. i can have shirts, banners, bigger magnets, mouse pads, coffee cups, all kinds of stuff made up. If you want anything just go to vistaprint.com and look. they sent me a few discount coupons. it will be a "pay as you go" order, but if say we all want a COM coffee cup the price goes down the more we order. so if you guys want something let me know, and i'll order it. Remember CICCI may be giving us some items to promote our regional chapter, but it would be cool to go to carlisle, (and hopefully our local show), next year with a table of COM swag.

So ichon and I briefly talked about starting a checking account to help fund COM events. CICCI mentioned helping to fund the regional chapters with $100 a year for the annual event. So just some of the things needed for a carshow would be awards, door prizes, dash plaques, and goody bags. some companies will donate swag for a goody bags, other will charge a small fee for their samples. dash plaques, awards, and advertisement would be the biggest chunk of the money spent. if we have the event at a chrysler dealership they get to write off most of the expenses, and would allow us to have the event for free. if say we use downs park we have to pay for the site. so would the founding members of COM be interested in putting funds aside for an event in 2012? this will be the main topic of discussion when we all get together early next year. so think it over and post your thoughts.

I'm certainly willing to entertain some contribution for getting us started but I think our goal should be to limit our costs (ultimately a zero net cost to members), and develop a balance that sustains our goals / needs to put on or participate in shows and to give back to our intended beneficiaries (charities). As you indicated, we can chat about this early next year but in the meantime, a draft budget should be developed based on what ever factors and priorties we decide on --- i.e. 2 shows, needs per show (site costs, award costs, goodie bags, give-a-ways, entertainment, refreshments, etc.) What ever level we want to work at will define our budgetary needs or limitations. We also need to make sure we coordinate closely and as far enough in advance that we make sure as many of our COM members are available to participate.

Keep the fire burning and let's forge forward.

I think a one time member donation would be appropriate because most of our members already pay an annual CICCI membership fee. Any donation would be accepted and placed into an COM, non-profit account, to be used for events, awards, etc. for the club. I advised Jason that I think our members are well connected enough that we should be able to pool our resources and connections to limit cost for our events. I think we should start planning our first event now.....looking for venues, setting a firm date, etc., so that we know what to include in our budget.

Forging ahead!!!!!!

yes, sorry donations would be greatly appreciated. we all are members of CICCI, so no more funds would be required. the thing to keep in mind about a car show is the amount of work needed to make it fun. we need to have members park cars, pick up trash, register people...etc.

I got an email regarding COM being reviewed by Crossfire International Car Club Inc., as a regional chapter, and we should be getting stickers and a banner to use during our events.

Wow you guys have been busy, I love all the ideas floating around, I'm up for a one time donation.Do we want to make the GTG at my house, that I talked about for March 3 an officail meeting to discuss everyhting that has been posted about club and budgeting? or is that date too late?
Maybe we should try a car show at Tate since they are offering a discount on service and parts? I feel it is only fair to bring them some business.

We (COM) have a thread on the CICCI forum listed under the regional groups.

Crossfires of Maryland

Are we still planning to put a Maryland flag in the "O" on our logo? if not i can submit the logo and get our stickers and event banner.

Thanks Jason.

The tote looks good. Too bad the keychain isn't cut to be round. The square will be pretty bulky and uncomfortable in the pocket give it's size. Maybe we can alter in the future if people want to get some.
