Default New Jersey working valet key made

When I bought my car in April of 2023 it only came with one key. I was worried about losing it, etc..
I was lucky enough to find a place in Fairfield, NJ that could make a valet key for me.
They cut the key for me on my first visit, but I had to wait a about a month because they had to get a download specific to our cars. They now have the download so there is no wait for that, just the cutting of the key and programming.
When the download came in I brought the car and key to them and they had it done in 20 minutes. The price with tax was about $160.00.
The tech asked me to start the car with the original flip key first, then the new valet key. I was so relieved when I put my original key in the console and started the car with the new key!
I drove around to a few places and it worked fine.
I plan on sending my original out to one of the forum members soon to have a new case and a second flip key made. Now I don't have to be afraid of it getting lost in the mail!

Here is the info:

NOTE: THEY CAN ONLY DO VALET KEYS.

Here is a picture of the Valet Key.
There is a transponder inside and I can use it to manually unlock the car. I drove to multiple places yesterday using only this key.

Valet Key

Thanks for the info! I contacted Chris -- he drove 2.5 hours to meet me, and he quickly made me two valet keys. They work great! Thanks for the solution.

I'm glad that this information was able to help you!
Chris is a great guy. He could have just said no originally when I asked him to make the key, but he knew my situation and kept working on it.
Using my car as the test subject we got it done!
