Man that car flipped about 14 times. That truly was a lucky driver to be able to get to his feet and speak on it.

The take off was O.K. but the landing sucked.

Years ago when I was racing FV the guy in front of me got off the track sideways exiting turn 2 at Nelson's Ledges. He did two very fast side rolls which brought him to the center of the track and then two and a half end rolls which left him upside down facing backwards in the middle of the track at the entrance to turn 3. The car was a Zink C4 which had aluminum saddle tanks with a connecting crosstube which had broken loose so it caught fire. When I came around a minute and a half later the car was upright on the right edge of the track and the driver was standing in corner station 3. I asked him about it an hour later and he avowed as how it had taken five minutes to get him out of the car.

Moral: when you're going fast even a slight misstep can have spectacular (and unhappy) consequences. BTW; it was a borrowed car.
