Just got home from the hospital, had to take my daughter because she sprained her ankle in an car accident we were involved in earlier in the evening.
Some guy in a Ford pick up ran a red light, and my Daughter broad sided him with our '04 Honda Civic.
Fortunately, it was nothing serious for her, and my Wife and I are fine. Took out the left front fender, hood, bumper, and head light on the Honda though.
The car is bright red, so I'm not too concerned about the paint matching after it's fixed. But I just can't stop thinking about how much it's going to cost us down the road, when we want to sell it, and some one does a car fax on it.
That's when you find out how much damage was really done. (Because insurance doesn't cover depreciation due to an accident).
In the end I just thank God none of us were seriously hurt, and my Daughter couldn't be happier that we were all there to experience her first accident with her. (That way it saves her hours of explaining to do). Best of all, it wasn't her fault!
Now the fun begins, having to deal with the other guys insurance company.

Boy...been there...had my front end torn off from a semi when I was driving a brand new spanking new Chrysler Lebaron back in '94...it was also red...had it been any other color. The guy may not have seen me when he did..and I wouldn't be here. No joke.

Give your daughter a big hug and don't worry about the car...it's just money!
