That's taken from our UK motoring programme "Top Gear".

The first guy was Jeremy Clarkson; the guy who took it on the test track was James May, well known by the other two presenters of the programme as "Mr Slow".

Clarkson is the guy who slated the Crossfire Coupe when it came out, he didn't have a good word for it. He actually said it looked like a dog having a crap!

However, I have just seen a re run of the test they did with the Roadster against the Audi TT 3.2 Quattro and the Nissan 350Z Roadster and Clarkson had to admit the Crossfire Roadster was the best all round car... YES!

The story goes that he was a little bitter because he was invited to the US by Chrysler to test the Crossfire Coupe when it first came out, he wanted Chrysler to pay for his whole family to go out there and they wouldn't, so he gave the Crossfire a crap review...I can imagine it's true he's like that.

 

Several of the Top Gear episodes are on You Tube, including both Crossfire episodes discussed above. I was a little upset after I watched the one of the "dog taking a crap," but came back around to the show after watching the roadster square off against the 350z and the Audi TT.

So it takes an EXTRA 700+ horsepower to go from 150 mph to 250 mph. And he dismisses 150 like that's a mellow cruising speed. These guys live on another planet.

 

Incredible video...my whole body clenched before he reached that top speed...I cannot imagine going that fast in a car. It sure is one beautiful machine.

 

The guy reminds me of Wallace from Wallace and Grommet...
