Default Finally some appreciation

It only took 40 years, but finally one of my cars is starting to appreciate in value.

Considering one sold for $40k at the Barrett Jackson Auction in October that was a real cobbled up mess, somebody got a great deal on this one.

Beautiful, I always liked the AMX and the Javelin. Mike correct me if I'm wrong but the AMX had no back seat but the Javelin did.

You're right Tony, the AMX was basically a Javelin with a 12" section removed just behind the B pillar, where the rear seat would be. Different 1/4 panels, roof line, grill, and hood. The AMX "scooped" hood was an option on the 70 Javelin.
With a wheel base a foot shorter than the Javelin, its handling and manuverability was completely different. Nearly as different as your Crossfire is compared to your Firebird. Of course the Crossfire with its IRS is more refined than the AMX could ever be with a solid axle.

Mike - I'm sitting here looking out my office window at a sky blue AMX. The guy that owns it is named Ben Franklin. I met him in the parking lot last summer. He was outside checking out my car, told him I had a friend with an AMX. Nice Car!

Wow, what a beauty and those cars were so unique, like our Crossfires!

Amazing how they stole your hood scoop from you Crossfire. I guess it looks OK on the AMX.

It just goes to show that when it comes to cars, nothing is "sacred" anymore.
Actually, I sort of like it better on the Crossfire, because I always thought the scoop was positioned a little too far forward (in profile) on the AMX. That's why I installed the rear spoiler on my AMX, to help balance it out.
