Thumbs up Re: time for another new car - for my wife...

well i traded in our 9 month old white XC60 T6 ... for a new 2010 silver XC60 R-Design... a much nicer looking vehicle with the painted bottom, 20" wheels,
special interior, sport suspension, ect... very sweet in person.

i'm so lovin it !!!

completed in 24 hours:
~ installed the full clear bra
~ tinted the front windows
~ debadged the rear
~ changed the bulbs to silver visions (mirrors and headlamp signals)

this car really reminds of our prior '08 XC90 V8 Sport - the r-design goods are well worth extra money over my prior T6...

Beautiful car Andrew. The grill emblems are ginormous on the new ones. LOL Reminds me of Austin Powers. Shagariffic!

made it a bit of a challenge... and most of the white r-design's had tan interiors - very few with black.

we took it for a 150 mile drive out of town - i really like it.

Does it have all the goodies like BLIS, Adaptive Cruise, hill descent, etc??

Just curious, I work on Volvo's and while we get a few XC60's, they don't usually have the fun stuff.

~ the options include: media pkg (nav & back up camera), convenience pkg, climate pkg, blis and pcc... all options but adaptive cruise.

The Adaptive cruise is cool. As close to a taxi as you'll ever get. The heartbeat sensor for the Personal Car Communicator is neat too. Very sensitive. It can distinguish between a human heart and animals. So you'll know if there's a carjacker in the car, but not a squirrel...

one pet peeve - the new r-design didn't come with fog lamps from the factory - so i added them from the XC60 T6 (factory wired on the r-design).

the downside, i liked the chrome trim around the standard r-design bezel but it wasn't part of the replacement trim with the fogs... (shown below)

the seamless custom mending of the two fog factory lamp bezel/covers are complete via a highline bodyshop - they turned out as one factory looking component ~

Hey Andrew, mind adopting me and buying me a new car too? LOL

The white looks great on the beamer though, the those new grilles in gloss work well with it.
