'06 Gto?
I have been looking @ the 06 GTO 400hp/400tq.....anybody here driven one of these? Not getting rid of SRT6 but since I am single now and dealing with mortgage and bills alone now who knows if I may have to get rid of the 6(gonna try hard to keep it though) I have seen alot of these with fairly decent miles 30k-40k around $15k...Know guys I know this isnt the "GTO" of old but you cant deny that power this thing puts down.
@ this price ran between a Hond Civic and GTO...guess what.....well you know.
Great interiors for an American car, fast, torquey. Very roomy for big folks. Great cushy ride.
They are real sleepers, but look great when you take a look at them closely. Breaking traction is very easy.
You can't lower them much without rolling the fenders though.

Selling the SRT for a GTO seems a little short-sighted in my opinion. You're going to be selling your SRT for what, 17-19K and buying another car at 15K? So you'll maybe pocket 2-4K in the process but with the economy in the shape it is in, you may end up paying more in the long run depending on where your interest rate is now on the SRT and what you will be able to get with the GTO. Another thing is the GTO handles like an old sow and there is nothing that will bring it close the SRT. I could see this happening if you were getting married and having children since it does have a back seat but single and no kids, keep the SRT. You'll regret it next spring when you have to come to the dragon with a new group of people that have to take the corners much slower.
Yeah Rudy.....my main thing is the diff in interest rates...I have a high one(not willing to disclose LOL) but if I can get an outstanding rate then the pocket diff will be more. Just looking as a fall back if I needed to sell.....last ditch to keep would be to sell the Mustang. So I am good for now.....plus anytime I fathom the thought of getting something else....I just take tc off...and say no phucking way iam ridding myself of the 6.
My dad has an '05 6 speed GTO, I've driven it on many occasions. One of my good friends also has an '05 GTO. While the performance numbers are comprable to my SRT, the dynamics are very different. The GTO drives like a much larger car (it weighs ~3900 lbs) and therefore is more planted at speed. The SRT6 is much more fun in the corners, but less communicative in the steering. There is a lot to be said for being able to shift for yourself, but the GTO manual has a very long throw in stock form.
Personally, I'd like to have both, the GTO (as well as the SRT-6) got a bad rap when it was on sale, but I predict that it will be remembered fondly 20 years down the road. If you need a back seat, you can't beat the bang for the buck of an '05-'06 LS2 GTO.

I was glad pontiac went to dual exhausts for the goat...the first one's looked lame...next gen...was a lot better, shifting wasn't like a vette or camaro, but it was fun shifting again...but, I chose not to buy one...but it was a close one...decided to wait on a vette...now look at me...driving a 6 cylinder...lol
Looked @ silver 06 6.0ltre this morning in rain. It was an automatic...also had a silver 07 S2000 black rims right beside GTO..ooh so sexy
....funny I was talkin to Beaner about eyeing S2000's and performance @ Dragon.
every S2000 I have been in had horriable wind noise. Sure they are fun little cars but thats alot of money for a Honda. At least the crossfire can justify its costs by haveing overpriced mercedes parts
