Theres a big drop in HP between the manual and the auto RX8 any ideas why? is it the rotary engine that doesn't work well with autos? can't see any reason why does anyone know

The only thing that I can think of, is that it must not be a very "torquie" motor. It seams that the extra load of the Torque converter is too much for a small displacement Wankel engine (less than 2 liter). It appears that it really pulls the HP down.

Just my guess... I don't know this for sure. But, it's the only thing that makes any sence to me.

Isnt this the car that got caught with its hand in the cookie jar anyway?

I seem to remember Mazda taking some heat for over stating the HP. maybe the auto HP number is the "true" number that should apply to both??

just my 2 cents.....
