Default Nissan 350Z Cars???

Hi all,

Looked at and drove a Nissan 350Z this weekend. Thinking about picking one up. Anyone have any experience to offer, positive or negative, on these cars?

Looked at a 2003 with low miles and a lot of "go fast" mods already installed and a 2008 that is stock. Both are Touring models.

Thanks

Kevin

This may not apply to the used market, but I know the touring models were vastly overpriced for what you got. Most of the touring add-ons were creature comforts rather than go-fast parts.

Still, those are great cars. There's a LOT you can do with them. Good luck and be sure to post your slips from the drag strip. You KNOW you'll have to try it out at least once.

I drove a coupe with a stick around the time that I got my Crossfire. It was very quick and had a nice sound to it. Handled very well and was comfortable, but when I hit 65 mph, the front end started vibrating badly. I told the salesman about it and he found out someone at the dealership drove over a curb to park it near the road. I did some research and they had lots of front end problems early on - vibration, shimmy, cupping tires, etc - so I moved on...and a great thing I did since I started looking at Crossfires!

No kidding! You could spend a fortune on modding these things.

Thanks! I saw a lot of posts on the front suspension and abnormal tire wear problesm to the point that Nissan had a class action suit filed against them.

I haven't found if they ever fixed the problem or if there ar aftermarket applicatins to take care of it. Have you seen anything in that area?

Thanks

Is there a problem with this discussion? It is in the "other cars" section.

Sorry - after I got my Crossfire, I lost all interest in the Z's. There are a LOT of them out there, so they must have done something right. If you're looking at newer ones, you'll probably be OK...I would look very closely at the tires, take it out on somewhere you can get it to 80+, and go with your gut. Good Luck!
