Car is a Factory 5 Mrmiata. No I did not build it. Didn't have the patience, time or the knowledge. Build book is now over 500 pages. Average build takes a year to a year and a half. If I was younger I'd have attempted it but at 60 I just wanted something I could enjoy and still tinker with. Its a 347 Ford Racing Stroker motor that puts out around 400-415 HP. The carb'd version is closer to 450. Mine starts in 10 degree weather and will run a day. Just like the Crossfire you are never done with these cars. We also have two really good forums over at Factory 5. If you are ever interested in a kit they are the best. You can buy parts to just about any of their kits and get them in a few days and their tech support is incredible.
Here's a few more pics for you. The new dash with Smiths Electric gauges and an engine shot. Have a safe and happy holiday season my friends!

Yeah after I realized there was more thread before your current post.. it was a "duh" moment.. LOL. After your post I went to Ebay and saw the kits.. but I'm not too far behind you on age.. and my "let's do this" glory days are behind me too.. :-) . There was a blue one running around Alpine at CAA#4... you cant help but admire them!
Hope all you folks are doing well. A Cobra update - a new glovebox, yeah I know the Crossfire comes with one, I wasn't so lucky. One of the guys on the Factory 5 forum hand makes them. Also added seat heaters as I have no heat. Hoping they give me a bit longer driving season. A couple weeks ago I was sitting in the car and up pulls a Graphite coupe. Thought to myself that's really a nice looking car! Then I remembered I had one! Still miss it but the Cobra is a ton of fun as well.
Pat, I got to run the half mile event against the real thing....signed glove box by Carroll and it was fast.... Glad you are doing well....
Hi Pat. Good to hear from you. Looking good. We are having a GTG luncheon today if you are interested. Beautiful day for a drive. We are meeting at McFalls Iron horse Tavern in Parkville Md. Some nice roads up there too. Its at 2PM. Chas and others will be there too. We have reservations under my name and Crossfires of Maryland. Let me know if you can make it.

Pat - Glove box looks really good! Factory Five Form member does a really good job with this upgrade. And the seat warmers will come in handy during those cooler fall days.
