As the years pass, I honestly grow fonder of the OE wheels.

I guess he wanted to be a brand purist and put Karmann wheels on

Karmann wheels ?
Mine have 'Made in Poland' cast on them .....

Aren't they made by Ronal? I know at least the center caps are.

Looked pretty nice!

Theirs (Golf, Rabbit, GTI) have ~ 45 offsets. Ours push the wheels out and they need no, or smaller spacers.

Well, I'd prefer not using them if I could afford the price of properly offset wheels.

But, I'm a cheap bugger and used them. I'm really very careful when I must R&R the wheels and inspect all components. Bolts, tires, spacers and contact surfaces etc.
