The last 400hp+ sedan I drove( home)was a 69-M.B.300sel6.3. My 6litre Jag may have to go!

isn't there also supposed to be a 300M replacement named 300N coming out in the next couple years? Or did Chrysler scrap that? I wonder what kind of engine that thing would have.

Default 300C Srt

Chrysler Ups 300C to 425 hp

Chrysler's home-run hit, the 300C, will get a boost to 425 hp for the 2006 model year. With a boost in displacement for its Hemi engine, the newly minted 300C SRT-8 will bump up to 6.1 liters of Hemi power and a full 425 hp, the same power that the best Hemis of the '60s produced. In addition to the hot engine, SRT-8s also receive a chin spoiler, a small rear spoiler, a new rear fascia and larger exhaust tips; four-piston caliper Brembo brakes; a race-tuned suspension with 20-inch wheels and tires; and sport bucket seats with suede inserts, as well as a 60-mph acceleration time of about 5.0 seconds.

Great specification. Pity it looks like a shoe box.

Bob, read the first few words of the article, "Chrysler Home Run Hit", you may think it looks like a shoebox but the buying public loves it!!!!!

I did read the article. I'm pleased DC have such a success on their hands with the SRT-8.

I just think it is a bit 'square'. Good value for money too!!

I bet we don't get it over here.

Dan,

Interesting idea. Was speaking to my dealer the other day. At the moment they only have space for 5 Chrysler cars in the showroom (their franchise does Jags, Saab, MG and Chrysler), so DC won't let them sell Dodge. They will be expanding the showroom to 7 cars soon so they CAN sell Dodge. Am quite tempted to wait for a Viper (I will be meeting the UK Viper club over the weekend so I can find out what the car is like on UK roads).

The performance of the SRT-8 is amazing and I wish the XF had the same performance. Just a shame I don't like the shape of the 8. Now if they had styled it on a 4-seater XF; that would be the business.....
