To our English friends... Lotus Elise

Well, you've certainly forgotten anything you ever learned in English class, that's for sure.
You're losing it Dan, seems you got pushed just a tad over the edge.
Just read the new R & T article on the best all round sports car. Sadly, the Elise finished 4th out of 9, ahead of the Viper, of all things.
The Crossfire finished...well I'll be darned...I don't believe the Crossfire was even in the running. Fancy that. In it's segment, the Crossfire is best at...well maybe...no how about...Well it DOES get lots of looks. That's important.
Add up all that bling in your car and you could've bought the Lotus.

Hey Bullseye...
Point taken. You're right. Just tweaking Dan a bit. And he me.
Like I said, I did like some aspects of my Crossfire, and I have a few friends of whom I'm very fond who enjoy theirs.
Dan's just a little irrational when it comes to the Loyotus..(see Dan, I'm even better at THAT than you) so I'm just picking some low fruit. Nothing personal to you guys. It's good that you enjoy your cars.
I enjoy mine. It's all good. Dan, what IS that thing in your avatar, anyway? Looks like a Dr. Suess car.

'Scuse me Dan, your ignorance is showing. That and your bad grammar.
What say I try racing a 6 bonger Crossfire? Nah...they can't make the cut as a sports car, that's aiming WAYYYY too low.
By the way, the SRT 4 banger Neon, as well as the Saturn ION, also a 4 banger, and the Subaru WRX STI, and Mitsu EVO will DEMOLISH a Crossfire in any kind of race you'd care to set up.
Heck, a normally aspirated Miata will spank it on a road course.
You've got yourself one heck of a piece of automotive engineering there, Dan. AMG Mats. Didn't know JC Whitney sold 'em.

Yeah, that Leno guy knows NOTHING about quality performance cars. Nothing at all. I wonder how many Crossfires he's got in his collection? Why don't you ask him the next time you're hanging out with him?
Think I'll thumb back through that article about the best all around sports cars. I MUST have overlooked that cooking state-of-the-art Crossfire. Must've. Maybe if they'd tested one with AMG Mats and an ECU mod...oh yeah, the autostick...the poor man's tiptronic, right?
What's the matter Dan? Haven't rolled enough quarters yet for the neon door sills?

Ok, I'm confused. What the hell is an Exige if all you guys have been talking about is some LOTTOY ELISE.

The Exige is an even higher performance version of the Elise. More hp, tighter suspension.
For folks that think the Elise is too spartan and hard to live with on the street, the Exige is that much more.
If it comes to the US, it's speculated they'll bring only 300 in. Will be msrp'd probably $10K to $15 K higher than the Elise, but there are more buyers lined up several times over than cars that will be available, so it's likely to actually sell for double it's msrp.
I love my Loyota.

Uhhhh, I don't think you're fooling anyone...my guess is that not only do you not even own a Crossfire, but that it's very likely you've driven neither car.
Yes, the Crossfire is a soft, plushy car for soft, plushy people. I'll grant you that.

Holy Moly Vern...did I hit a nerve?
Oh, not to dwell on the literacy issue, but it's not 'to fat', it's 'too fat.' Subtle difference, but an important one.
Just to clarify: 5'8", 155 lbs. If that's 'to' fat, well, so be it.
And it stands: I'm sure you've never driven an Elise, and I have my doubts as to whether or not you even own a Crossfire.
I think it's pretty clear who is rude here, go look in the mirror, Vern.

Kusheen - I hope this isn't your Elise.

Hi 140.6
No, not mine (black/black).
I DO tell folks, though that as good as these cars handle, they are just cars, and are not immune to the laws of physics.
I love that site, there are LOTS of exotic cars demolished there, owners who thought that their cars somehow were immune to the laws of physics.
With the mid engine, they are a bit more susceptible to drop throttle oversteer, and they are particularly tricky on wet roads.
That pic looks like an expensive shunt.
