Default New Chrysler in my garage.

Hi all,
some of you know I had an injury to my back requiring surgery a while back. I was forced to sell my Xfire to have money to live on. Now I have received my Worker comp settlement and it is closed and onward to the personal injury suit. I was going to buy a SRT6 but as things go I sort of fell into this car. A friend of a friend passed away a few months ago and hist family had a couple of cars to get rid of. They promised him they would find the cars a good home as they were his babies!! Being a member of Deep south Mopars I was contacted by my friend who knew I was in the looking mode. When I saw this car I fell in love. This is not everyone's cup of tea but I am an old muscle car guy from way back and this was right up my ally.

1965 Plymouth Belvedere II
THIS FACTORY PRODUCED MUSCLE CAR WAS A SPECIAL ORDER CAR MANUFACTURED APRIL 20TH 1965 AT THE LYNCH RD DETROIT MICHIGAN FACTORY
OPTIONS AS ORDERED IN 1965
1. 383 4 BARREL V8 ENGINE
2. 4 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION
3. DANA 60 SURE GRIP "POSI" DIFFERENTIAL 3:54 GEARS
4. VARIABLE WIPERS
5. HEATER/DEFROST
6. AM MUSIC MASTER ECONOMY RADIO
7. FRONT AND REAR SEAT BELTS
8. HIGH TRIM LEVEL
9. BLUE VINYL BENCH SEAT
10. HIGH GRADE TRIM INTERIOR
11. DARK BLUE METALLIC PAINT
12. WHITE SIDE SWEEP TRIM

IN 1967 2 YEARS AFTER THE ORIGINAL PURCHASE THE ENGINE WAS SWITCHED OUT TO A 426 MAX WEDGE CROSS RAM ENGINE WITH FUNCTIONAL MAX WEDGE HOOD SCOOP AND RACED IN NHRA DRAG RACING.
THE CAR WAS SOLD TO A COLLECTOR SOME TIME LATER.
IN 2004 THE CAR WAS STRIPPED AND REPAINTED WHITE. THE CAR WAS FOUND TO BE COMPLETELY RUST FREE AND RETAINS ALL THE ORIGINAL SHEET METAL AND TRUNK AND FLOOR PANS.
THE CHROME AND STAINLESS TRIM WAS POLISHED. THE INTERIOR WAS REPLACED IN ORIGINAL STYLE WHITE/BLACK VINYLL. DYNA MATT SOUND DEADENING ADDED TO THE FLOOR ALONG WITH NEW CARPET. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED WITH A 440 SIX PACK. THE 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION WAS REPLACED WITH A 727 TORQUE FLIGHT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH A 69 MUSTANG FLOOR SHIFTER. FRONT POWER DISC BRAKES WERE ADDED. A FLAMING RIVER TILT STEERING AND QUICK RATIO POWER STEERING BOX WAS ADDED. A CUSTOM DASH AND INSTRUMENTATION WAS ADDED.
NOW THE CAR IS A BEAUTIFUL FULLY RESTORED RESTO MOD WITH THE FOLLOWING UPGRADES.
1. Freshly rebuilt 440 6 pack 450hp/475 LBS TQ
2. Correct 6 pack intake, carbs, and air cleaner
3. Billet Protronix II distributor
4. TF 727 automatic transmission (floor shift) with Mustang shifter
5. Flaming River tilt steering column and quick ratio gear box and billet water fall steering wheel.
6. Front power disc brake conversion
7. Ceramic headers, Stainless dual exhaust
8. Custom Dash with cobalt gauges, oil temp, oil pressure, trans temp, water temp, voltage, fuel, tachometer, speedometer
9. Max wedge hood scoop retained from the 60's
10. Electric engine cooling fan
TOTAL INVESTMENT BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER and RESTORER $40,000.00

My purchase price $22,500.00

QUARTER MILE ET 12.23 SEC.

While it may not be an Xfire and handle corners well it ranks pretty high on the cool car scale.

Really nice, maybe I'll see you at some of the area car shows.
BTW, if you decide to upgrade that old Alpine, let me know, I'll take it off your hands.

Thanks! I plan on making all the shows in the south east that I can. I can actually get in and out of this car much easier than the Xfire. I like that new Alpine CD/IPOD/am/fm stereo. It has some nice speakers as well, great sound for cruising with the oldies!

Steering may be a bit compromised when the front wheels leave the ground. Hope you have wheelie bars.

Cool car.

Very cool ride. I nearly bought a 66 Belvedere last year before deciding on the '73 Challenger.

Oh how I envy that Six-Pack!!

Lucky You. Congrats.

I owned a '65 Plymouth Fury III. One of my favorite cars ever. Also, it was my first of many Chrysler products. The wife picked it out just weeks before the wedding.

I still have her. Wish I still had the car.

Those 1961 thru 1966 Chrysler products were exceptional. And of that group the Belvederre was exceptional.

Enjoy.

I had a '66 Dodge Coronet Convertible 500 while I was in the USAF loved that car.
