Default 1/4 mile runs in the CL65 today...

I finally hit the track in the CL65 and it performed as expected.

The car ran 11.67, 11.51, and 11.58. The first run was slower from high air temps. The third isn't a 11.4 because I choked.

Hopefully with a tune the car will run some 11.0's. I was in the right lane on all the slips.

Lesson Learned. This won't happen again.

Now that's amazing to me. Completely stock …… dang! I guess having a Crossfire taught you well, very consistent.

Thanks. It actually is like driving a larger version of the Crossfire.

Most of them were shocked it was stock and more so at the weight of the tank.

The question now would be, Are you going to be able to beat the yellow school bus?

I doubt it. Steve's got way to much of a power-to-weight ratio advantage for me to beat him (on the books). He should be trapping 135 at least based on his power, while I'll be at only 125 or so after the ECU/TCU tunes. Damn Porsche is too light to keep up with.

~ out of curiosity... what do you think it would run on 'street tires' for a more realistic daily driver street able number? low 12's?

I think a 1.8-1.9 sixty footer and a 11.8/12.0 would be feasable. There's an 11.8 on Dragtimes with street tires. Low 12's and very high 11's shouldn't be a stretch.

Thanks, but I think Nick prefers E55. I believe both are tanks though.

Very nice! Consistent trap speeds is very good to see.
I hit the track yesterday with some friends... 11.41@125.6 was my best pass. Very happy with those numbers on conservative boost and high IAT's.

That's bad-***. That 125 trap is where I hope to be after the tune. That thing must be a beast on the highway.

So, pretty dang good then. Lol

That's sweet man, I'd like to hope I could pull something close to that in the 55 with DR's but compared to you, I have no clue how to drive lol.

Those E55's are fast, so I don't think it will take much work for you at all to make that happen. I think you'll soon find that racing is easy compared to building and prepping the car.

It's just hard to launch mainly lol. After there isn't much to do except make sure you're pointed straight. I couldn't even imagine that 65 man. It's just soooo much flippin torque lol. I need to invest in DR's. What size and brand's are you running?

I got to see a CLS55 run a 12.0 on DR's with just a tune. 85 ish degrees and probably 2500 ish DA. So that was pretty good. I think they're around 400 lbs heavier than the E too.

Tire pressure, tire selection, burnout, launch rpm, and throttle application is all there is to a good launch. After that you just watch them in your rear-view if things go well.

I just posted this over on MBWorld, so I copied and pasted below:

Here are the wheel specs of my setup: 18x9.5 et 45mm
Tires are MT ET Streets, 265/40-18

Without spacers the wheels clear the calipers by approximately 1/8".

Tire selection will be taken care of, I'll just match your setup lol. The rest I guess will just be trial and error lol.

Thanks for the specs! Thinking about it I could probably run the same setup on both cars. That'd be pretty sweet.
