Forget the V/8 swap in my Crossie, I want one of these
Dodge will auction the very first production 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, the most powerful and fastest muscle car ever built, during the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas 2014 auction on September 27 in Las Vegas. I hate to say it, but most that can afford the car are baby boomer age or older. Most of these guys had a 400+ HP muscle car back in the day and think they can handle it. Well that 400HP '68 challenger is a far cry from this ~10 second 1/4 beast.
I know I sound like a mom, but when you see the proliferation of idiots on the interwebs crashing vipers, ferraris, lambos, etc it is only a matter of time before sub $100k powerhouses like the CTS-V, AMGs, hellcats, etc cause some serious accidents...
I could not agree more, and while I love the fact that you can get a car this quick, I think there should be a special license endorsement or something similar for people with 600-700+HP factory cars. Make them prove at a track that they can drive it before turning them loose. There is a reason Bugatti will only give you the key to a portion of the engines HP until you get through their class/track event, then you get all the power
