I don't think the US version has the same size / power engine. I used to have one in Estorial blue many years ago. I loved that car and nearly got one again instead of the Xfire. But I remembered why I sold it, it drank fuel like water. 170 miles to a full tank of gas!

The m coupe in the US also has the quad exhaust I don't know what you mean.

bullseye is correct.

in the US...only the M coupe has the quad exhaust (two stainless steel tips on each muffler)...the standard Z3 has an exhaust/muffler on only the left side.

i am sorry to say this but you are wrong, in the uk we have the ZM Coupe, which is the coupe version of the Z3, it only comes in "m" format, so uprated stuff.

the Exhaust are 2 double ones on either side, but everyone i have seen in Europe and america have only a single or small double on the outside?

has Bmw released a different model apart from in the uk?
Check out Ruzo Gallery and see the White Bmmer!

what was the specs on the us model?

maybe you are confused?!?

i had a 02' M3 and many friends in the US had Z3 M coupes...i know what i am talking about. i know US bmw m cars like the back of my hand....and so does bullseye.

see exhaust tips on my picture below....the tips are nearly the same on the M coupe in the US.

its just so strange, i know the m3 has dual piped exhausts, ok then in america it is the same, but in europe only the uk has these dual quad exhuasts.

is the power HP the same as the euro spec?

Here's a picture of one that only has a single outlet (dual tips). There's one in the parking lot at work and it has the same single outlet exhaust.

Were all of the Z3 coupes M models? Maybe that is the difference.

the hp in an 01' - 05' US M3 is 333.

the hp in an 01' - 02' US M coupe in 315. (due to exhaust restrictions)

the euro hp versus the US hp conversion is equated differently. the euro m is rated at around 10 hp more than the US cars. equates to a true 5 hp gain for lack of emission requirements in euro version.

hope this makes sense.

cheers!

Thanks c_plunkett

so its an legal law about exhaust restrictions in the States then? strange why the modern M3 have dual. the Z3M Coupe was ONLY a M version car, there is no normal Coupe for the z3, well not in the uk

the car looks not as agressive from the back without the dual quad pipes!

also yellow indacator lights just dont look nice, the UK spec is nice

this is a picture of the non-M version...a standard US Z3 coupe. rather lame compared to the brute looking M.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NON M????

you telling me that there was a standard version? a Z3 coupe??

this was totally not offered in the uk!! and i am a keen car reader and never heard of this!!! nothing about a standard z3 coup, u could only get it in the uk in convertable or if u bought the removable hard top!

the z M coupe was the only option as displayed in the picture

How strange, are you sure its a non m? or just an ZM coupe with different Exhaust for some States emition laws?

yep...there is (as pictured) a non-M coupe in the US. just a base Z3 engine in a coupe body....boring.

below is link to two US Z3 coupes...standard 6 cyl with a single exhaust....

What they all said. You could get a bmw z3 coupe in the 2.5 2.8 and later the 3.0. The 3.0 Z3 was no sloutch. But the 240hp m coupes untill 2000 were still much faster. Then the s54 M coupe was a beast. I heard them hitting 12's bone stock. Just like the e46 m3 for that matter.

yep...only in an 01' or 02'. the M coupe is a 5 spd but the M3 is a 6 spd.

here is a guy on crack....but if you select the "back to results" you can find some realistically priced s54 m's (available in conv't or coupe).

It is still no match for the almighty crossfire, just ask anyone on this site. If you says otherwise you must be ill informed and immature.

the z3 coupe? you swear like anyone claims that the crossfire is the fastest car out there. i noticed you said you beat a 350z, its funny how all the z owners claim b.s. on you srt owners. the only one to step up and produce a vid was a 350 owner who showed he beat a stage one srt that stepped up to him on the forums. point, there's always gonna be arguments and there is always going to be something faster. second point, you've started to get really annoying, why do you even come over here anymore. you've become the biggest troll i've ever encountered. i wish we had a standing moderator.
