1992 Dodge Stealth Twin Turbo-hands down, no question. I have owned five of them and drove them until the odometer cried. Especially liked the all wheel drive and all wheel steering. Helps with a sports car as your only car in Iowa's ridiculous weather.

The Cadillac Allante. The car has a timeless design by Pininfarina. My '88 Pearl White is a beautiful car that gets a ton of favorable comments. The only upgrade on the car has been to the addition of great looking Datata chrome alloys that make the car look all the better.

Yep, an Allante roadster and a Crossfire coupe...it doesn't get much better.

Porsche 959...100 years from now that car will still look like 10 German dudes in lab coats designed it.

Not a bad choice but do you mean "Goodwood Green" (original for that year)
I really like Fathom Green off of the '69 vette - a great color.

So far the crossfire but that's unfair, i've only had it 3 months.

Favorite car I ever owned is probably a surprise. 1975 Oldsmobile Starfire, otherwise known as a "Poor man's porsche." Rebadged Vega body with a torquey odd fire V-6. 231 Ci put out 115 HP through a Muncie 4 spd, but it was all heart. It was perfectly balanced and the average vette at the time couldn't hold me on a twisty road. For 200,000 miles, it never let me down. It held it's head up against faster cars, with bigger engines and usually over confident drivers. And when the rust started up the B pillar, signaling terminal cancer, I cried. It was my version of "Herbie."

My fantasy car is a Lotus Esprit '87,'88, or '89 before Ford decided it needed a big power plant to be a "real" sports car.

65' Riveria GS in either silver or black. [/quote]
I think the 65 Riviera is the best design to come out of detroit in the 60s.
Also to consider;
1957 buick caballero (had one. It's currenly in CA.)
GNX
E-type Jag
59 Cad
58 Buick
71-72 Riv

Call911,

OMG (sorry) omg, that's amazing. My brother had a Monza at that time. Std v-6 he modded unbelievably. Now he has two or three in various forms of restoration. One is a daily driver. Even though he owns two vettes.

GM got six years out of that body over three brands. Hardly ever see one any more.

Didn't list it but I had an 82 Riv for my dad. Classy looker for sure.

Cool. i have little interest but my bro might. Don't mean to quibble but the stock V/8 in the monza was not a 350. i know a lot of guys swapped out for a 350 but it made the car really heavy on the nose. Did donuts faster than the roadrunner cartoon. What was the little V/8 that came stock? Not the 305 was it?

It was a 305. I put in a 350 with a 650 double pumper. They also came with a 262 v8.

262, yeah that was it. The whole car was built around the Wankle engine GM was going to promote ALA Mazda rotary but at the last minute, failed the EPA tests or something. They revived the 231 V/6 for the Buick and the Olds but didn't have enough to go around, so chevy's got the cast iron 4 out of the vega and the 262 small truck engine. 305's and 350's bolted right up.

BTW that 231 V/6 was out of the American motors jeep. Which acounts for the high torque. For something GM through together at the last minute, as it were, it was a nice package.

I thoroughly enjoyed mine. Someday I'll bore you with the "Porsche chase accross IOWA" story.

Time now for bed.

I really enjoyed my 69 Dodge Cornet R/T. It was yellow with the black R/T stripe around the trunk area. It was the 440/375 hp versions with the automatic tranny. My best time at New England Dragway was 13.68/105 mph in the quarter. I raced it a lot on the street. I kept it for 5 years and sold it when the available gas was so low in octane. When I raced I use to install my 4.56 geared rearend and put the 15" slicks on, otherwise I was over red line at the end of the quarter.

I also owned a 78 Lincoln Mark V which I was extremely fond of. It was really a luxurious car, great ride, that could pass everything but a gas station. It was the "spruce" color which you couldn't tell at night whether it was green or blue. It had the emerald green landau top and the tutone green interior. An Irishman's dream coloring!

My 90 Vette was a great car until it started to nickel and dime me to death. I purchased it from the original owner and kept it for seven years. It was a 6-speed, two tops, fully loaded machine. I traded it in for my Crossfire Roadster.

Favorite car so far? Two words: Crossfire Roadster!

Bob

My first car was a 1977 Chevy Monza 2+2 which I put a slightly modded 355 small block and TH350 into. It came with a 305 stock.....................and there were Monzas with the 350 from the factory but it was ONLY in 1975 AND sold in California as the lowest powered V8 GM ever made(to my knowledge) with a tire scorching 125hp.

I just sold that car off to the junk yard for $50 with the motor/tranny.............the body was still in original(never been wrecked) condition. It was a very sad day as I wanted to sell it to someone that would turn it into a race car.............but instead it was crushed.
