Default My competition stereo truck

Thought I'd share my other rides with the Crossfire family.1996 Dodge Ram.4 Atomic 5,000 watt amplifiers(2 amplifiers per subwoofer)10 Kinetik car audio batteries,2 320 amp Ohio Generator alternators,Eclipse head unit,2 custom built DC audio 15 inch subwoofers in a blowthrough enclosure.Pic of the box is a test fit;no gaps between box and truck bed after the install, accordion boot gasket so it doesn't leak.my best score so far is 159.6 decibels. There's more in there though;just a matter of fine tuning some more.

No George it is Watt, Watt, that level of sound will make your ears bleed.
Working in machine shops early in my life when noise was not thought about as a long term threat, if it was they did not care, has made me quite deaf, but strange as it is a loud noise is more painful now than it ever was. I also find it causes confusion in thinking. It has also given me Tinnitus which is worse than the deafness. With all the loud music these days we will have a generation of deaf people coming, ear protection is a must.
William Shatner, a Canadian, suffers from Tinnitus caused he thinks by the sound affects used on Star Trek, it was so bad he thought of suicide at times. There is no cure, and I understand his suffering as you have to tune it out if you can and ignore it.

all stereo organizations keep safety a priority.above a certain wattage you have to wear ear protection and above that as in the class i'm in and above you have to be outside the vehicle to run your system;this is stictly enforced...if you don't wear it you can't compete.there was one competitor back in '05 that collapsed one of his lungs because there was so much pressure in the cabin.

Damn, nice
takes alot of power running thise Amps.

Biggest I have had, years ago was 4 audiobahn ultra excursion 12's with 2 power acoustic 2,400 watt Amps, loved the Amps, plexiglass tops with twin blue meters

In my 16 canyon I made a fiberglass & mdf down fire "under" rear seat holding "4" 10" cerwin vega pro shallows and a skar skv2-1500.1 amp

Great sound for my long hours if driving at low volumes, and cannturn up to stay awake lol
