Default caliber srt4

OK, with the replacement of the neon, the new caliber will be out shortly. i just seen a official release video of the srt4 caliber for dodge. the new 2.4 engine is turbo and will have a awd system, and also it will be 300 hp. i guess dodge has something for the evo and sti now. i'm not sure about the curb weight, but i hear its not that much. somewhere around the evo weight. there looking to have about a very very low 13 out of it.

Caliber isn't going to be able to compete with the evo, or wrx, even with 300 hp. Not to mention the evo looks way better than the caliber. They need to take the tranny and the engine and put it into a sportscar. Not a modded family sedan. I sure wouldn't mind awd 300 hp in my crossfire. Here is some info on the caliber, pretty much everything that you'd want to know about it. 0-60 of 5.9 seconds.

AWD will not be available on the Caliber SRT-4. Possibly at a later date but not at launch. 300 hp and 260 tq are going to put it at mid 13 sec quarters, but I wouldn't say low 13s. Also, it is rumored that Stage upgrades wont be as readily available like on the current model. Sources say the engine is already tweaked, I don't think power will be easily released.

Once again Dodge has stolen my heart with this one. It is going to be hard to hold on to the xfire when these hit the showrooms. Although, I doubt I can pick one up for the discounted price I paid for my leftover '04 xfire.

they say the caliber is around 3,189, the evo 3,285 with 286 hp so the caliber has it on weight and power. i hope they do make it awd, just fwd will suck! well maybe, i can't wait to see some number in the 1/4 soon.

It is ugly, like a minivan, suv, car all in one. What a waste to make this an "srt" vehicle. Not worthy in my books. What's next, a dodge caravan srt-6? They should take the money they save, if they don't make an srt caliber, and throw some $$$ our (crossfire owners) way. Or at least those of us that paid near msrp.

yes, weight maybe less, how idk, the caliber looks bigger than the evo, but the evo's times are way faster than the caliber srt. caliber has an est 0-60 of 5.9 this thing will be in the low 14's maybe high 13's.

...Did anyone sit in one of these (non-SRT version) during the Detroit Auto Show? I did, and I wasn't impressed. Much of the interior is done in light gray plastic that looks like it could have just as easily been used for making pots for houseplants or rubbermaid containers. There are parting lines, etc everywhere. It photographs well, but it just doesn't have a rich look or feel to it. But, my biggest gripe has to be the manual shifter. In rally car fashion, it juts out of the lower dash, and thus shifting is vertical (as opposed to horizontal). I might be okay with this, if my elbow didn't hit the center console when putting it into second or fourth. Sure, the SRT version packs something like 300 hp. But, none of that matters if it is not a joy to drive. And for me, a big part of driving fun has always been shifting my own gears.

Though I am not a fan of the styling. Lets think about their est. 0-60.

They said the same thing about the neon srt-4 0-60 in 5.9 for '03. Yet car and driver hit 5.3 0-60 and 13.8@103.

And people have gotten 13.5-13.6 Bone stock out of a SRT-4.

There is no reason why this Caliber could not do the same.

And the caliber is not that big, its like the size of a jacked up neon.

but its 300 lbs heavier, has 19's in front, drag of .40 and almost no stock srt-4's go 13.5. maybe if its at sea level and 40 degrees.

I prefer a Durango and Vibe comparison myself, check out the pillar in the rear, fugly! The car would have to knock my socks off to lease one when my lease is up, but I don't expect that, so used EVO VIII/MR here I come...well, in the summer of 2008 that is!

The heck with the car, I just wish those wheels would fit the Crossfire.
