Photoshop Savvy
Photoshop Savvy
I know that this is probably the WEIRDEST [to say the least] place to post a question about Photoshop. But, there are so many of you who know about it, and are willing to help. So, there is an up and coming artist on Myspace whose name is Ronnie Day. So, I was checking out his page, and noticed how cool his picture effects were. Could ANYONE give me any kind of idea how to make pictures like these? Thanks for the help, in advance:
Re: Photoshop Savvy
I'd say its probably either a separate application that adds the background, or he just added this image of the picture frame himself around his photo. I'm sure it wouldn't be to hard to find a close-up pic of a polaroid, then crop out whatever is there, and add your own back in.

If you want to learn how to create a regular polaroid look the detailed way:

Personally, I would just look for an image online that has a border you want to use, or scan something in. Then, just overlay the image on top of it, like so:

Re: Photoshop Savvy
He simply scanned some old Polaroids added some poorly exposed images to them. Just have both images open - drag the portrait onto the Polaroid. Then resize and rotate to fit the space in the Polaroid.
The scratches would most easily be done by literally scratching a copy of a print and scanning it. There could be some filter or effect out there. Do some Google searches.
I'm not to sure about the tape effect. My guess is he put tape across the print and scanned it.
