Rattle can resto.
Rattle can resto.
I wanted to see what I could do with spray paint.
I found this thing on Craigslist for $75. It was so thrashed it was great.
There where fireworks sticking out of the silencer.
1973 G390SS
Duplicolor red then Reproductiondecals.com then clear coat.
Hy--yaaaa!!!

WOW! Great job! That does look like a fun project and a fun ride. I want to restore a 94' Cavalier (my first car) using the $75 Rustoleum paint job as a fun project. I had to give mine up because it became unreliable and at the time I did not have the money to fix it, it was a fun car. Again, awesome job!
Re: Rattle can resto.
Are you talking about rolling the Rustoleum out? that's funny because that's what I tried to do first on this bike. There are threads on the net showing guys rolling out there muscle cars with a small roller and Rustoleum. No matter how thin I mixed the paint I couldn't get it to harden enough to sand. I tried many times then gave up. I ended up using Duplicolor Laquer spray paint and Clear Coat from Napa.

That's some good information to know! I have also seen the videos, web-sites, etc and did not even think about that! I am not set up to do any spray painting, I think my neighbors would sue me if I did it outside..LOL.. so I may just get a cheap paint job here in town. I drive a Pontiac Sunfire daily but it is getting worn out and thought if I could restore a Cavalier with less money than I could buy a new car or fix the sunfire, I would get the fun out of restoring it then driving it, we'll see I guess! Thanks for the info and good luck on your next project!
