Default TVR to make a comeback (again)

Once again it is rumored TVR is making a comeback. This time production will be upped to the hundreds per year and two models may be offered.

Resurrected TVR to use Cosworth-tuned V8s in new cars | Autoweek

This was the model I fell in love with at 14. It took me a decade and a half to buy my first. Same basic body but less power.

TVR's always had a very unique appearance, and it looks like the new one is sticking to the family tradition.
Were they "tricky" to drive? Seeing how so many were lost to rollover accidents?

Absolutely unforgiving.

Unsophisticated. Very short wheel base. Typically overpowered and they just would just not go slow. I read in a book on TVRs how the countryside around the factory they used as a test track was littered with flipped TVRs. That is how the limits were found.

But mine were like ballet dancers on the Dragon. Roads like that are what that car was made for. Well balanced. Very communicative and responsive.

That is funny I can see the resemblance.

In all my years of ownership the most major repair needed was a brake master cylinder on my first. The part was categorized as for "nonexport racing use only" as I was told and while I never cancelled the order placed in 1980, I have yet to receive the part.
