Default FS: ScanGaugeII

I recently purchased a ScanGauge II for my C32 AMG. I wanted to follow some of my car's vitals like boost, IATs, and coolant temp. Unfortunately, I was an idiot and didn't realize that my car is one of the few that is incompatible with this gauge. My loss is your gain.

New it is $170. I will sell for $120 shipped within the contiguous 48. Includes necessary cable. Installation is a joke. Takes a whopping 2 seconds and it detects your ECU settings automatically (though not mine, b/c mine wasnt compatible lol). I misplaced the instruction manual in my frustration when I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't read my ECU lol. It can be downloaded straight from the website for free.

Link for ScanGauge Information: ScanGaugeII - Trip Computers + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool

To check if your other vehicle is compatible, look over this list:

http://www.scangauge.com/support/Com...Vehicles.shtml

i dont think the SRT6s are compatible btw even though they arent on that list

no worries. thank you for verifying my belief on the srt6. though i think it should still work on the NA crossfire. if the crossfire doesnt have a 3.0-3.9 L engine, then its good. it just isnt good on 3.0 - 3.9 L engines for MBs (see compatibility list).

This IS compatable with the Crossfire... Tamadx is thinking of a different brand/model of gauge.

Do you find it useful? I'd consider getting this one, but not sure how often I'd 'use' it.

I also have the Scan Guage II that was purchased for our Volvo S60. When the Crossfire was purchased, I was disappointed to find out it wouldn't work on our '05, 6speed, Limited Coupe. An email to Scan Guage received a confirmation that their product will not work on MB engines.
Good to hear yours works!

Another OBDII tool was purchased for the Crossfire and works fine.

weird

both importlabsrt and brucero claim it works, and brucero apparently is currently using one. you must be mistaken.

Well...I'm not mistakened that my ScanGauge II doesn not work on my Crossfire and I know I didn't dream the email from ScanGuage confirming it will not work on some MB engines so yea....I'm surprised and happy to hear that it works for others.....

Well, no one told my scan guage II that it's not supposed to work.

I do enjoy the ability to precisely monitor the functions of the engine.

Ok, I bought one today. Their office is located around the corner from me. They are very nice btw.

I plugged it in on the way back, constantly read "communicating"....

I read in the manual how to force it for the different modes, nada.

So I just got off the phone with them and confirmed that the official line is "since this car uses Mercedes engines, it will not work."

If you got one that does work, be thankful.

Now I have to find another one that will fit the same price range and give me the same options.

ScanGaugeII works flawlessly in my 07 Limited. Guess
I'm one of the lucky ones.

This doesn't make any sense as to why one would work and not the other...is it simply the programming updated past 2005? I know for sure it won't work on the 2005 SRT-6.

Probably should make a new thread, but there has to be some reason why it works on some cars and not on others? Software update?

To those that are using it and it works...what's the year and options of your car?

I just got off the phone w/ the scangaugeII folks (linear logic). Apparently in just the last 2 months their engineers have fixed the ability to interface w/ our Crossfires; inc. the SRT6. My scangaugeII that I've used on another vehicle is a couple of years old, but they told me I could send it in and they would upgrade the program to the "3.17 MB" version; for free! I don't know if the MB means Mercedes Benz or Mega Byte. lol I've absolutely loved this units abilities. Huge bang for the buck! I'm probably going to just get the new one for the SRT6. Bob
