So this was a thread idea started on MBWorld.org and frankly, was an amazing idea.

The rules:

A member posts a **free** P.I.F. item. Any CrossfireForum member, with a minimum of 25 posts is eligible to receive this item. The giver will take names, via post and/or PM for a time length they see fit, at which time the giver will put all names in a hat and pull out the winner. The winner will be notified via PM and announced in this thread. It is up to the giver if the winner is responsible for shipping, and this must be stated in the giver's original post.

The only other rule is that winner MUST and I repeat MUST have an item available that they are willing to Pay It Forward with. If you don't, please don't apply to be a winner. The life of this thread is reliant upon the winner actually Paying It Forward.

I will start with some parts I picked up today from Jeff Croy (MDSRT6) today. These parts are in fact free, but whoever gets these parts will need to pay for shipping (and paypal fees). I will give a week for anyone who wants to participate to post up in this thread and/or PM me with the specific part(s). The winners will be chosen at random out of a hat after the time is up. If everyone is completely opposed to the idea of this thread, then I will just pick the first person who PMs me about a specific parts, but I am really hoping this thread will continue for a while. In times like these where we don't always have tons of extra money to spend on the little (or big) things.

Just to keep in mind going forward. Anthing put up for Pay It Forward doesn't only have to be parts taken off of your car. It could also be cleaning, storage,and frankly could also be anything non-car related.

Alright ladies and gents, I just wanted to let anyone who would like to participate know that there is no need to wait for the parts up now to get sent out to people... If you have something you would like to put up for a PIF, feel free to do so. With a picture or two, short description, and how long you are going to wait before drawing a name out of a hat.

not to crash the party but we tried this same idea on a local forum. The whole thing lasted about 2 weeks before failing hard.

 

honestly, i can see that happening. however, it all depends on the generosity of the forum members as to how long this will last. i do not see this going on forever, as once things get shifted around they will settle for a while until 6-12 months from that point they start up again...

either way, if it last two weeks or two years it is a way for people to get something they may need or want for FREE (excl. shipping) which is always nice.

 

More than likely it will die out, but it has a better chance were it made a sticky and doesn't end up getting buried.

 

I'll leave that up to Gary or FP to decide if it should become a sticky.

I'll jump in with one of the elusive headlight clips and a rubber cap if needed; I don't want someone hording it because they may need it later.

 

Howard, I also have the lettering, was going to use it for a project, but have lost 1 or 2 of the individual letters. If anyone is needing a replacement or trying to spell something else, I have some to offer as well, just not an entire set.
