Default Eibach, Koni, Cut Springs, Shocks

SOLD SOLD SOLD AND SOLD

After buying K&W's and loving them the time has come to empty the closet. Whats for sale.
Cut SRT-6 springs 8000 miles + o -
Eibach springs 800 miles + o -
Koni custom valved shocks (bought used from ACRucrazy)
Stock shocks

The SRT-6 springs were cut 1 coil off the rear and 3/4 off the front. Make offer
Eibach's $180 shipped
Koni's $300 shipped
Stock shocks Make offer

The Koni's I bought used and I was told that they were custom re valved by Lee Grimes of Koni. I painted them black so prying eyes wouldn't know I had them. One of the rear shocks makes a squishing noise and it was that way when I got it. I loved them and they are for sale only because new Koni's were included in the K&W kit. I will include the drilled dust covers, cut bump stops .... you won't have to drill and cut your stock parts.
I will include a selection of spring pads with the cut springs. The fronts were perfect with dot 5 pads (included) the rears with dot 4 pads. Any questions?

Les,

What kind of mileage (and track abuse) has been put on those OEM shocks? I would think about running SRT shocks, just not sure if anyone else has done it on a limited or if it would be worth the time if they have been put through the ringer on the track already....

John - you beat me to them

They're still up for grabs, if you want the Konis go for them. They're outstanding shocks but I doubt I can "tune out" the squish/gurgle since mine is a daily. I'm a **** about NVH and that would drive me bonkers... enough to negate the few times I would actually enjoy the adjustable Konis over, say, standard shocks that make zero noise. I could get it rebuilt but that drives the cost up... If my car was a weekend warrior I'd already have money en route... but since I see black-tie events more than race tracks, I'll have to pass. I'm hoping to be a pioneer for another brand of shock in the coming weeks... price not much higher than these. I'll keep you all posted.

Les, thank you for the reply PM, and for the consideration. Go ahead and keep these available for anyone and I hope they sell quickly for you!

Best regards,

My car has just under 9000 miles. The stock shocks were removed in june of 2009 at around 2000 miles because I bought the Koni's. Most of my track time has been with the Koni's and cut springs. I used the Eibach's for a while and while they gave a more comfortable and civilized ride on the street they were too soft for what I was using the car for. All the parts are in good condition. As I mentioned before, one of the rear Koni's has always made a squishing sound. I've run the car as hard and fast as my skills have allowed and the shock works fine. I'd rather take less with full disclosure than have an unhappy buyer. I have an offer on the cut springs and will accept it or not depending on how much shipping will cost me. I'll know tomorrow. If you are interested in the stock shocks be aware that the dust caps and bump stops go with the Koni's now.

The cut springs are sold and in the mail. I'm willing to listen to offers on the Eibachs and Koni's. I'd rather give a Crossfire owner a deal than put them back in the closet. Maybe a package deal? These are not up for auction, they are for sale.

How much lower was the car with the Eibachs on it? I am interested in them for my N/A. Is this the same Eibach set that Needswings sells?

OK bargain hunters, I need to move these Koni's. These are not your everyday buy from xyz shop Koni's. These are custom valved for racing. I couldn't tell you how they differ from the regular mass produced Koni's because I've never had those. I know they made a night and day difference when I put them in. Yes, one of them makes a squishy sound. But I didn't mind because of how spectacular they performed. These will come with the bump stops already cut, with the dust caps already drilled. If you buy new Koni's you have to drill your stock parts. You didn't know that did you? New Koni's arrive with NO bump stops, you have to reuse the stock ones. New Koni's arrive with no dust caps, you have to use your stock ones, only the rod is larger than the stock shocks so you have to drill yours out to fit. You cant go back. Buy mine, complete with dust caps and bump stops and keep your stock parts un molested. I bought these used and paid a premium because they were custom valved. I don't feel ripped off. They were worth every penny to me. Now you have the chance to get them cheap.

I'm going to include the stock shocks as part of the deal. You get the Koni's and my stock shocks too, all in one package for one low price. You can sell the stock shocks and have the Koni's almost free! Don't like the Koni's? Put in my low mileage stockers and throw away your old high mileage worn out shocks.

You can adjust the Koni's to get a better, softer ride than the stock shocks give you. Just ask those that have the "off the shelf" Koni's. Then you can firm them up for the Dragon, have your secret weapon and put the "off the shelf" Koni owners in your rear view mirror. (driver dependent) Think about it ...... you want these and you know it.

You could always put a little fat matt just around the offending shocks tower. It's out of sight. I could the hear squishing, perhaps, because I cut little doors in the fender covers for a rear strut bar. The strut bar didn't do anything positive for the handling that I could identify so it's in the closet too but the doors remain.

What springs were the koni shocks valved around? Any picks of your car with the cut SRT springs on? What was the total lowering from the cut springs? Did you get a quote on a rebuild for the noisy shock?

-thanks

As far as I know they were re valved around the stock SRT-6 springs. I switched to Eibachs from the stock springs and didn't like the combination from a performance point of view. The combination was much better with the stock springs. So I took the Eibachs off, cut my stock springs and the combination was excellent again. I didn't do much research or ask too many questions before I bought them. ACRucrazy told me the re valving cost almost as much as the shocks. I did look up Lee Grimes and his name came up in the SCCA Forums, NASA Forums, Grassroots Forums etc. He seemed to be "the man" to send your Koni's to for a racing re valve. Heres a picture from the track with Dot 4 pads in the rear and dot 5 in the front with the cut SRT springs and Koni's. The car sat around 5 1/4" just in front of the rear wheel, and 5 1/4" behind the front wheel. (ground to bottom of the rocker panel) The car was lowered even more but I had more rubbing in the front than I was comfortable with and problems with the sway bar in the rear. The car can go lower if your willing to take a hammer to the bulge in the inside front of the front fender and clearance the frame in the rear to give the rear sway bar more upwards travel.

Just in case you missed it, all the springs are sold. All thats left are the shocks.

I too have an SRT so I will just cut my springs if I go with these shocks. Sorry but I've got a few more questions. Did you get rubbing with the cut sping/koni combo? or was that the aftermarket springs? Also you said the car was "lowered even more" how was that done? Can you explain in detail your impressions of the cut srt spring/koni combo on the street and on the track, over stock? against your KW setup? good and bad here or by PM -thanks
