Cool FS: Pioneer Flip Out Navigation AVIC-N1

Well just as the title says I'm selling my AVIC-N1 that I've had installed in the Crossfire since new. It works like brand new and has already had the "Flex Cable" upgrade and comes with everything in the original box and I have the wireless remote.

Link to Pioneers webpage: AVIC-N1 - | Pioneer Electronics USA

Pic with the screen down is in my gallery.

SOLD

Very nice. What did you have to do to get the speed hooked up to the headunit? Is that simply an accelerometer within the head unit to determine whether you are moving to keep you from watching dvds or what not....or did you actually hook something up to it.

I would love if somehow an interface could be made with the dashdaq.

It's probably the same as the GPS.. it uses GPS to determine speed. To watch dvds/use the navigation with most GPS units you just simply ground the parking brake wire.

From what I can tell that's the gist of it. The speed sensor is for the GPS to A. determine speed to calculate time of travel B. there's an actual speedo display (as well as a g-force meter) C. to turn off the DVD player

There is a way around the DVD player cut off however... I've just never cared enough to do it.

I see the iPod/phone adapter is listed among accessories. Can you confirm you can use an iPod?

Pioneer has a lot of iPod adapters... However I've been using the A/V input since I bought it. As the adapters were a lot more expensive back then than the $10 A/V cable from best buy.
You may want to contact Pioneer directly.

I would love to look into incorporating the display software from the dashdaq into a headunit...then it would be an awesome way to not have to have tons of headunits...

Also, not sure what you would like to get out of this, but I might be interested in taking this off your hands if the price is right...been looking for a new headunit for a while.
