Default FS SRT6 Wing (alabaster white)

Hi xf users!

I have decided that I will try to put my SRT6 wing up for sale and will only sell it if the right price is reached. It is alabaster white and comes with the mountings. No cracks, no scratches. Selling it so I can do the mods all you other cool peeps have. Pm me if interested and with your bid.

Just wrote that to avoid low bidders. The ones interested will come. If it's right I'll sell it. Otherwise stays in the garage.

Maybe you should post a starting bid.

If it was for a Roadster I would make an offer.

For those interested I picked up a near perfect complete rear SRT Coupe Hatch and Wing matching the color of my car a few months ago for $500 shipped from LKQ.

That's a steal. I'm shocked they didn't charge you half that for shipping that behemoth

Aesthetically, I think it's a wonderful mod. It does affect the behavior of the car too. You get significantly more downforce, but wind noise increases and fuel mileage takes a slight hit. The higher the speeds, the more noticeable (on all counts).

It also eliminates 90% of stop-light challenges.

LOL, the project head for Crossfire spoke at Woodward and someone asked him about aerodynamics testing, the 2 spoilers, and downforce. He said very bluntly, to everyone's amazement, that the SRT spoiler offers no additional downforce over the N/A's, it was purely aesthetic to set the two cars apart.

If you need another convert to confirm, James was there

Wow.... I do not doubt what he said, but the SRT wing has so much more surface area, that it would seem like additional down force would be a given. I understand that angle and other factors have an effect as well. Interesting.

And our design head at Nissan said the Juke was a nice looking automobile.

I've had both spoilers on my car. One allowed the car to get twitchy at 130+mph, the other one confidently keeps the butt planted at 150. I'll let you guys guess which one is which.

At the simulated speeds in the wind-tunnel that they use for testing (~70-80mph), he's probably absolutely right.

I don't recall word for word, but when the Chrysler guys were in Germany working on this project, it was common practice to drive 130 mph to and from work when using the Crossfires. I recall him saying that one head guy would drive past his destination because he loved driving the car so much, then turn around and head to work each morning. That was before the SRT was produced so I would have to assume the active wing was being used.

Personally I don't find the wing causing any difference in my cars handling, but then I don't drive it above 90 or so.

In fact James the product manager who spoke to us at Woodward said the spoiler on the SRT was just to make a visual differentiation on the car, and that it did not provide any additional affect.

Interesting stories. So then it's only up to design. Hence I go for the na wing. So anyone keen on getting it?

I'm sticking to my experience.

Regardless, a woman doesn't get breast implants to be better at anything she does, just to look that much better while doing it.

I prefer my woman to show the goods when I am going for it. Exactly like the N/A wing. Pops up when I press the pedal to the floor ;D
