That's where I got my wheels for my black roadster. I sent them my set for an exchange. I think its cheaper that way.

 

Just think if I'd picked up the ones in so cal for $250 and sent them for chrome plating, I coulda saved $1400!

Yes, If you can spot a set in Cal. cheap, you save the shipping of your wheels, and get free shipping on their wheels. That would be the way to do it.

 

Just FYI . . . This exchange program is not exactly as it seems. First you have the expense of packaging and sending your original wheels and center caps to LA Wheel. Then after they they receive your wheels they "pick out all the flaws" and charge you for all the needed refurbishing of your wheels. It ends up costing you much more than what they advertise as the "exchange" price. Believe me . . . I've been there / done that.

 

This is true. I went through this and I know if the wheels are not perfect, additional charges apply.

 

Yes, and the customer is going to expect a perfect chromed wheel returned. Chrome ain't gonna cover up a road rash.

 

Wow, that was weird. I was just on their site looking at those very wheels. I was looking at the 800 dollar deal. They ship you their wheels. You pay the 800 + 2000 deposit. After you mount the new wheels within 14 days, you ship yours back to them in their boxes, on their shipping label. They will access your wheels and return the agreed price out of the 2000 deposit depending on repairs. I will keep mine. I don't think that chrome is going to net any HP....lol But I like the look, don't get me wrong...

I'm still waiting for LA Wheel to tell me what it will be costing me (they have to evaluate the set of wheels and center caps I sent them). Plus I already have ANOTHER set of OEM SRT6 wheels and center caps here so . . . I'm not hot on your offer but I will give it some consideration when I know my final cost from LA Wheel. Where are you located??

I'm in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. I thought about going directly to LA Wheel, but they are deceiving and subjective when it comes to their review of the incoming wheels.
I reviewed the examples they had on their website, as far as wheels and the curb rash. Based upon their review, I'm sure they will take a magnifying glass to each imperfection to charge additional fees, this is the reason for the $2000 security charge.

I just checked the tracking and my wheels aren't even expected to arrive at LA Wheel until Friday. I would not expect to hear from them until next week sometime. Will keep you advised . . .

 

I am saving for a set of AMG wheels chrome for the E Class...but the XF's stay stock for now.

Just a note of support for LA Wheel. When I bought my all original, 11,000 mile Mercedes SL500 this past summer from the original owner (an older lady), the car was flawless except for curb rash on 2 of the wheels. The rash was, from my perspective, fairly severe, and since they were on a nearly perfect car. I fought the "new wheel" versus having the originals redone routine. I inquired to just about every wheel "refinisher" in the country and ended up going with LA Chrome. I decided that the original wheels in chrome would look excellent on the car. I had to remove them from the car (put some temporaries on), box up the originals, and send them off to LA chrome. To my surprise, they informed me about 10 days later that they had received my wheels, and that they could fix the blems and custom chrome plate them for the advertised price of $850 for the set....the repair needed was apparently not that significant. I got them back about 3 weeks later and I don't think I have ever seen such a superb job of wheel repair and chrome plating....the wheels absolutely look like fine gemstones, and really dress the car up. These guys (LA wheel) were always friendly, informative, honest, and delivered MORE than they advertised in my opinion. I highly recommend them!!

 

Just went this route with LA Wheel. My SRT looks exactly the same as the SSB roadster pictured above, right down to the rotors and red calipers. It did cost me an extra $500 becuase they said one of my original wheels was bent. I had them send it back and I use it for a spare. I can not see the bend, it balanced good with no issues. The chrome work is very good. Hoping it stays that way for a long time. I figure I have $1400 in the wheels and they were worth it......Kirk

 

This set of chrome SRT6 wheels is no longer available. I bought a second SRT6 roadster and they will be going on to bling bling that one!
