Default I must have a NW single... pre-owned...

If anyone is making the jump to the SRT or the Swap to the SL55 motor, please PM me first regarding a Needswings single intake. Rob tried to cut me a deal on a new one and I am just a few dollars away. I'd be willing to pay $250 for a used single or if someone could sell me the MAF assembly on a single and I can make the rest of a decent intake with a Volant or Air-Raid universal kit. Sure teflon is nice but Im in a Limited for god sake.......I really just want to safely address the air restriction and keep it cool. I did the hot air intake and I am concerned about the Air box being less than air tight with no filters in it.

text dierct 919-917-4644 if you have a needswiings single or double tha you would like to sell.

Chris .

This is a bit more than what you're looking to spend, but still less than the full MSRP:

I can say that you won't find a better member to do business with.

At the end of the day, modding isn't cheap, but neither is it mandatory. The difference in performance on your Limited will be noticeable with the NW Single.

Just a suggestion, but I would not recommend trying to piece together a cobbled intake, for multiple reasons. Especially since there's nothing wrong with the OEM intake. The Limited engines aren't nearly as susceptible to heat and IATs.

Wait a few weeks and save some additional $$$, and go about the job in a clean, concise manner. You'll thank me later.

**EDIT**

Not 100% sure the SRT NW single will work on your N/A.... I forgot about the elbow differences. Sorry...

Just an FYI .. it was less than air tight from the factory.. There was a thread where the intakes at the cover were blocked and the car still ran.. LOL.

LOL it's hard to say. Maybe he was missing the O-ring from the box to the MAF?

I've seen pics of sand in the MAF where dirt had made it's way past the cones in the front. I think Im going to cut out my panel filters so that the rubber seal is in place around the edges of the box.

$440 for an intake is about $200 more than the best running intake on a BMW twin turbo. I realize modding can be expensive but my car is valued at about $4500. It just dosn't make sense to throw $440 at an intake that looks decent in the engine bay and adds nominal power. If I were driving an SRT6, It would have been my first mod, not my last!

That value seems awfully low... regardless, value is a relative thing. I understand the reluctance to shell out 10% of the car's value for any mod, but you also have to take into account the limited market. There are dozens of thousands more BMWs that can utilize the intake tube... so, it makes sense to sell 10,000 tubes at $200... unfortunately for us, there are only a few hundred people that have bought the NW single (estimating).

When considering value, consider what it would cost you to buy another car to match the Crossfire's driving experience. Chances are, you'll be back above $10,000. So, a $4,500 car is still a great ROI even if the intake was $600. You're still "modding" a fun-to-drive car for a total investment that's HALF of what it costs to pilot the competition.

Parts for a Bimmer might be cheaper, but the Bimmer itself is not. So, there's a tradeoff.

The cheapest mod is to simply leave it stock. We're only talking a MINOR difference in performance on the NA anyways, so if money is truly a concern, the choice to leave it stock (and reliable) makes MUCH more sense.
