For sale: NeedsWings SRT6 Cat Delete Downpipes with new gaskets. $600 shipped. (US lower 48 only). I had them made with an extra o2 bung for a wideband o2 sensor to read AFR.
They are a great quality part made from 304 stainless and will bolt right up. I had them on my car for about 3k miles before I went to long tube headers.
I went from downpipes to long tube headers and I'm curious what you think. Mine are from Dyno Comp in Scottsdale Arizona and the instal required loosening the engine mounts to lift the engine. The steering box had to be unbolted and some metal on the bellhousing had to be ground off. It was quite an adventure getting them on to say the least.
Sorry for the hijack, good luck with the sale. Whoever buys them, use that extra bung! Mine have it as well as a bung for an exhaust gas temperature sensor. The more you know the better you feel.
I will agree with you that the install was an adventure. I had to test fit the headers first because I was having them gold ceramic coated. Having to install them twice, I was able to get some practice, which makes me a pro now. I also had to lift the engine and move the steering box. After the grueling install, they fit perfectly and I haven't had any rubbing issues which is great. As for performance, my car has lots of mods and I don't regularly throw it on a dyno so I'm not the best judge. The big difference for me was that my boost pressure went down 2 psi and I am making just as much or more power with less psi. I'm thinking I gained some efficiency with the long tubes or something.
I had a dyno after every modification. For those interested in the downpipes they are good for around 10 hp. Mine were worth 11 but the level of modifications will make a difference in your results, IMO.
I had a pre install dyno, open headers dyno and headers connected to the stock resonator back system. Unfortunately the dyno was set for 4wd so the results were unusable. For a while I had the redline raised and can tell you the headers make a huge difference above 6000 rpm. I had to lower the redline back to stock because the transmission took so long to shift at the higher redline that I kept hitting the rev limiter. I suppose a valve body would have solved the problem. Even with the stock exhaust from the headers back, they sound mean as heck. Did you fab a custom exhaust?
I'm considering the NW downpipes for a NA Roadster. My question is, do you think these SRT6 downpipes could be used in conjunction with a custom downpipes back exhaust? Thanks
I don't think the exhaust manifold is any different between the NA and SRT. If so, they would bolt up and you would have to fabricate an exhaust from the end of the downpipes to the back of the car.
