Default Crossfire Racing Shop

FYI:

I've just worked out a deal with a professional Porsche racing shop to start working on the Crossfire with me... I'll keep you all posted as to our progress. The car now has it's own mechanics bay... Ah progress.

Great news! That sounds like my ideal workshop - Porsches and a Crossfire side by side. It shouldn't take long for them to adapt to seeing the engine in the 'wrong' end.

Simon: This was a must do... They have TIG welders, lifts and an empty bay that I needed to get the Crossfire in fighting shape... I'm renting the bay and the use of the machine shop unit I can get the car done...

Wish me luck buddy... there's a lot of stuff that I still don't know about this car... I'm still having problems with the fan motor going nuts and vacuum issues since the interior was partially gutted...

This will take weeks to figure out... Unfortunately I have already paid for the weekend NASA event at Willow Springs... So, I have to get the car in some sort of order...

You know that if I could I'd be there giving you a hand! Sounds like you have a mountain to climb, but at least you have the facilities to hand now.
I guess the safest thing to do with the fan is to run a separate switched fused feed to it just in case the ECU decides to kill the feed to it when you actually need it, most likely when you come back to the pits after a session. Do any of the codes give a clue to what is going on?

I seemed to have run out of time as well, the new Green Stuff pads are bedded in but I've been fiberglassing all day to get the brake duct boxes finished - and still need the 70mm ducting. I'm going to try running ducting up to the intakes as well so I can swap the ducts over to the intake for a few laps to see what temps I log on the OBD.

Anyway GOOD LUCK for the weekend!

PS. Have you stripped down all the excess trim off your camera too.

Simon.

I was thinking the same thing about the fan... I don't have a reader for the codes. I will be moving the car over to WERKS2 shop in the morning and trying to get this thing in order so I can run it this weekend... I have a few vacuum leaks from the heater core removal that may be the culprit.

As long as I can get this thing on the track this weekend, I'll work on the rest later... I have a PRO licensing "test" on Saturday. Which if I pass, I will be running for national points on Sunday. Fingers crossed that I get the car running correctly...
