Default michigan crossfire

well this is for anybody really but most likely people in michigan. me and bunch of friends are going to lapeer dragway this coming sunday and i would like to see more crossfires there besides mine. so if your at all interested in going just come up to the track, test and tune i think starts and 10 am, and its $25 to run. there are never really that many people there so u can normally get alot of runs in. it would be fun to have a bunch up there besides 1.

Interesting. I missed the Milan Crossfire run last week. Maybe I'll try to make this one. Need to check with the wife first, as we just came off a cruise with 9 other crossfires on Sunday. How many cars do you have going?

I will have to look and see what I have going on but I think I will be able to attend. Do you know what the rules are for convertibles on the drag strip???

i think its if your running under 12.99 or lower, you need a rollcage but here is the website for the other rules: http://www.lapeerdragway.com/

So how fast will the stock, no mod's , non-srt roadster go? My husband says I'd probably go 16's with mine. That would be REALLY boring for him since he goes 7.0's with his race car. But it would probably be fun for me because I never went down the track with ANYTHING, except a golf cart, and even then I was just a passenger. Sheesh!
We don't have a race this weekend, so if the weather's nice, maybe we'll try to come out.
Oooo. I have a stone chip in my windshield and saw they said no cracked windshields. Do you think they'll care? Wonder if I could wear a Harley helmet? Seems like falling off a motorcycle you need more head protection than getting in an accident with a street car with seatbelts.

ok sweet, it will be nice to see others there. as far as a stone chip i don't think they care i think its more like if it has spider out and the windshield it pretty bad, you can always just call then and see what they say. an last time i used my friends harley helmet and it was fine. the cars of my friends going will be a '92 3000gt vr4, a '05 mustang gt, a '94 cobra, a '95 eclipse gst. and maybe my mangers from work so they could be there and they have a 2000 mazda protege turbo, and like a '98 neon with alot of stuff done to it so i'll most likely be the fastest lol. they really want me to bring my camaro instead so if for some reason i do it will be a very loud '96 black z28 if you go. but there is like a 90% chance that i bring the srt-6.

Just got back from the Lapeer dragway. What a blast! Never took a car down the track before, but have watched hundreds of passes of my Husband and Daughter's races.
Just to let you know, my stock roadster's fastest pass was 15.250 1/4 mile. The test and tune's were 1/4 mile and then they had a trophy race that was 1/8. I lost in the semi's with a bad light (the tree was WAY quicker than any previous rounds), but the winner only took .009 stripe. I had pretty good rt's during time trials, but when the actual racing came, they stunk (especially for my 1st time).
I saw a black srt there (was that you 05BlackSRT6?), and "raced" another black roadster (from Canada) in a couple of the time trials, but that's all there was so far as XF's.
Don't know if I'll do it again, but it was more fun racing another xf than one of those many mustangs, hehe!

Yea, ok. I was confused, because I didn't talk to you, but I guess my husband did after you 1st got there. This was me , I drove my xf and he was my crewchief. Big change for us, because he's the racer, and I'm usually his crewchief.
I didn't see you in the trophy, or bracket race. Did you leave when they started? That is a really good time. I guess there's a big difference with the srt 6. My fastest mph was 82. Do you have a stick? And did you turn off your traction control? Thought we saw your tires spinning once, and was just wondering.

What a dummy.
I thought I would save my 1st ever time slips ever for all time and laminate them.
The heat turned them all black and now they say nothing.

Just some info for anyone else who might think of doing that.

no they don't make the srt-6 stick only auto, yeah i want hooking at all the other day i was burning out pretty bad. and yeah i had traction control off. no you have to have the top up and windows up too. when you raced the black one did you beat him because, yours was auto one and his was stick right?

Yes, His was a stick. I beat him both times he was next to me. The 2nd time his et was faster, but I treed him bad. I can't imagine that you can cut a very good light with the clutch and all. I'd tell you the times but I ruined all my time slips by trying to laminate them. They were on paper that turned black with the heat from the laminator. Sorry.
I forgot that srt-6's are only auto. Seems like it would be the other way, kind of like the Z06's are only sticks.

i wish they were the other way, that and the traction control still turning on even when off is the only 2 things i hate about the car.

I ran a best of 14.8@94 mph with my Crossfire and the only thing done to it is the Magnaflow muffler.

Do you have the all season tires or the sport tires?
