A little something you didn't know. I'm Brazilian by birth and a big fan too, but unfortunately when Senna died that was the last day I ever watched F1 racing. Thanks for the videos of the good times!

Derek!
Thanks bud...day after xmas and I just saw your post, I'm still grinning ear to ear, with an tear in my eye. Yeah, I never get tired of watching that boy run...he was something to see. Anyone who likes road races will appreciate that very first clip as he navigates Monaco and you see him counter steer through some of those turns...magic.

I don't know if I told you this, but during that time I was a big Nigel Mansel fan...and that damn Senna always came up big against him. Mansel retired from f1 after his WC in '92, and I had to root for someone...Senna was a choice, the young guns (M.Schumacher/Mika/Herbert) were also so much fun to watch and, of course, there was my french buddy Alain Prost. But I knew that Senna was at a serious disadvantage to the most the others since McLaren, remarkably, were behind in brining active suspension to their car. Additionally, they had lost honda power that year and were running the Ford Cosworth...good engine, but not in the same class as Renault. Clearly, with Prost running the unbeatable Williams, it was going to be a challenge. Well, if you ever want to understand the difference between Schumacher (who is undoubtedly one of the greatest of all times) and Senna...find films of that '93 season (with teammate Michael Andretti) and you will begin to see just how fantastic he was. Particularly the '93 Brazilian GP...one of the most magical races you will ever see and a Hollywood reception by his home crowd, the likes of which you will never see again (no joke) in F1.

Thanks again, I've got to stop and rewatch them (close the door and crank up the volume).

Note, I watched his last race live in '94, and have seen his last lap over and over again. it just never makes sense to me...it just didn't seem that he was that close to the edge.

Looking very much to following your exploits this coming season. Great new years to you and your girl! Enjoy and be safe out there.
