track day pictures
If you plan on doing track days more than twice a year... get race pads and fluid... it will help big time as Karen said to you x'ed.
Rotors probably aren't required, but I don't worry about mine warping or cracking after having them cryo treated.
Still splicing a California Speedway 'Tips' video together with examples of correct and incorrect lines for major corner areas. I probably won't do the chicanes as people get those down pretty easy.

SRT6_Crossfire was kind enough to send me the picture of me with the trophy girls... I'm not ashamed... a little goofy looking maybe... but not ashamed.

Was telling my buddy about you having the track all by yourself for 30 minutes and I think he wet himself. ;-)

Select the region you live in... HPDE 1 is a good starting point... and have fun... It's a great group of people...
Here's a video that my buddy in the old Audi sent from the event at Cal Speedway. I think a few of you guys are in some of the shots...

It may be awhile before I run again... I participated at the NASA event this weekend at Willow Springs (WSIR)... I was extremely disappointed with my times on both days and I know that it was only 5% driver and 95% car that put me so far behind the pace.
I've run that track for 25 years and had better lap times in a volkswagen van...
jk.
I referenced my NASA times from last year (May) at the same track... This was before I gutted the car and performed the other mods. Even though this weekend I ran more than 10 seconds per lap faster than last year, I was still averaging 3-5 seconds slower than the 1st place finisher in my class. That may not seem like much, but on a 2.5 mile road course it averages out to be somewhere in the range of, what ? 10 mph per lap ?
I have to get some professional consultation and try to figure out why this car is still so slow... And how I can make it faster without being up-rated to a different class...
That being said, I will keep you posted when I plan on running again...

Where did you find those pictures? Where there other ones... (possibly of me? or SRT SIX or srt6_crossfire?)
Beautiful shots by the way... crystal clear. Nice!
EDIT: Never mind, I found it http://www.hirevonline.com ... None of us lowly HPDE 1, 2 or 3 folks...
But I did find some pictures of the 'Umbrella Girls'... now you know why I called them that.

Derek, your participation in any of the track events, already made us proud of you.
Not just any of us have your endurance, patience and determination.
As long as we know there is HDDP431 in the track pictures, that will warm our hearts.
Am looking forward to when they announce the GRM "invitation".
If I am not mistaken, somewhere in June.
Yup I have rated you too.

Funny how those UMBRELLA GIRLS keep showing-up at every NASA event... They provided the trophies and hugs this weekend at WSIR... Now I know where part of my entry fee goes...
Thank you Ms. Xfire Embrace... I appreciate the sentiment and the GRM vote...
