Nurburgring Track
I know that most on this forum are familiar with this famous track.
Watched a TV special about the track yesterday.
For 16 Euro you can drive your car, or any car one lap around.
The average is one death a week.
That's probably 52 beautiful machines lost per year.

for all you video game junkies, there is nothing more fun than driving the crossfire, even if it is a coupe, on the nurburgring. i'm using gran turismo 4, and i'm running it on my ps3 in hd and it looks awesome!!! i just wired up the playstation 2 to my kenwood video control unit, i haven't quite figured where i'll be wiring the power for it, the slim ps2 fits nicely in the glove box. but driving the xf while riding in the xf will be a pleasure for my passengers. GT3 is a great driving game with almost endless options. here's a screen shot!!

Funny you say that. My favorite game is Forza Motorsport for Xbox. I love testing my skill in different cars on the 'ring. It's amazing how close it is to the real thing.

When it comes out in May, Forza Motorsport 2 for the Xbox 360 will include a 2006 Crossfire SRT-6.
I had a friend drive the ring this last summer. He drove an Audi diesel wagon...you really can drive ANYthing. We talked about shipping our cars out there this summer...its like $1,000 to ship it over there on a Luftstansa flight.

what's the laws regarding driving a "foreign" unregistered car in Germany or around EU countries for that matter?
I was luck enough to drive my Ferrari round the Nurburgring a few years back and what an experience ! I have done a fair few European tracks and can say that the ring is without doubt the most evil track of them all... you have to have nerves of steel through the blind corner and rises.
I thought I was being stupid when I drove over a rise at about 120 mph, but some nutter passed me like I was parked, in a Labmi !
I am planning a XF roadtrip later this year that will take the ring in... not that my wife has noticed the route yet...
For anyone thinking of going, make sure you go to NURBURG not NURNBERG (or Nuremberg as us English speakers say it). There are no courts of appeal at Nurburg, just corners !

last year I did European delivery on my Porsche. even though I had to take it easy because of proper break-in procedures, it was an unbeleivable time. no matter how fast you think you are going, someone will blow by you like you are standing still !
