Default Wilwood Big Brake Kit

Hello all,

I have been in touch with Fast Brakes about producing a Big Brake Kit for the Crossfire and we are finally nearing production. The front kit is just about finished, and the rear kit has the machining of the rotors left.
Here are the Specs:

Front
13.25 2 piece Rotor
4 or 6 piston
Wilwood Superlite Caliper
HPS Hawk Pad
Retail: 4 Piston: 1250
Retail: 6 piston : 1650

This is the projected retail price for 3 orders. If we can get additional orders (6 or more) the price will come down.

Rear
12.90 2 piece Rotor
4 or 6 piston
Wilwood Superlite Caliper
HPS Hawk Pad
Retail: 4 Piston: 1250
Retail: 6 piston : 1650

Again, prices are for a low order quantity. Before they go into production the owner would like to make sure there is interest in the product.

I will be offering an initial PREPAID order for the first 6 customers for this product at a price of 1100 for the front and 1100 for the rear (4 piston). Turn around time is 2-3 weeks for the fronts and 60-90 days for the rears.

After the initial run production times will be greatly reduced. There will also be a 10% discount if both the front and rear are ordered together.

The other option he is investigating is to use the SRT rotors and adapting a larger caliper. This will help reduce cost, but the rotor will not be 2 piece.

Please send me all of your qustions and I'll do my best to get you the answers.
You can check out the kits he has already produced here: www.fastbrakes.com

We're looking for as much feedback as possible and will do our best to bring a product to the community that satisfies the majority of customers.

This all looks awesome, I'm happy we were able to work this thing out.

Thanks,

To have a name brand brake as good as wilwood, and at almost 1/3 the cost of another brand of at least equal quality, i dont see why someone would want to spend that much more.

Srt6 brakes are the way to go, they are bolt on and are cheap.

These are bolt on as well, better then the SRT, and cheap is a relative term. Cheaper, yes. but more time has to go into sourcing the parts and if you install it wrong you're SOL. With a kit that is backed by a company with install instructions, if anything fails it's their *** not yours.

I'm all for the DIY mentality, but you can't compare any modification to a DIY project when it starts to effect such things as safety.

all I ask is that you do a 60-0 ft braking time with base model brakes and compare those with the special Wilwood brake vs SRT6 brakes.

they all stop with in the same distance. the larger willwoods might even take longer to stop due to the extra mass. A perfect example is the Porche GT2 takes another 4-6 feet extra to stop when compared to the Limited's 60-0mph distance.

you guys should read Stop tech's Q&A threads.

id bet on the srt-6 brakes to do the best in comparing them with the wilwood but im sure the wilwoods look nice and people like the name, they are a good company. what would the price difference be in changing my brakes on my roadster to one of them.

Wilwood is headquartered in my town so I see a lot of their products rolling on the streets and they do have very nice kits.

With that said, I have owned both a Limited and an SRT6 and I think both of them have excellent braking systems. That is assuming your not going to be tracking your Crossfire.

the srt6 is sufficient for track racing.

I know this isn't exactly an apples-apples comparison, but look at like the PCCB upgrade for Porsche. The stock brakes are sufficient for 99% of all the driving most owners will do, but people will lay down an extra 15K for that 1% of reduced brake fade, consistent stopping distances, and predictable car manners.

Don't get me wrong the stock set up is good for what it is, but there is always room for improvement.

This kit is a direct bolt on performance increasing mod priced fairly reasonably.

I have one person interested in the full kit and one in just the fronts. We need at least one more for the front kit to get it going and onto cars.

Two more needed for the rear kits.

Keep in mind for every 3 PEOPLE we get the price will drop $50.00 (up to a point obviously).

I work with Superformance and we are the largest distributor of Wilwood products in the world.

We put wilwood 4 piston calipers front and rear on our 2500 lbs cobras and our 2400 lbs GT-40's.

and our cars are definitely tracked.

Our cars are normally set-up with 550 HP and 535TQ

So i know the quality of Wilwood Brakes, and i would put nothing else on my car especially for the price TVT is able to offer.

No one is questioning the quality of the Wilwood product.

I believe the rotors are smaller than what comes stock on the SRT-6.

the c32 has a larger rotor than the srt6, and it might be a bolt on part. Also the E55 are even larger and also might bolt up. SLR is extremly heavy and Huge!

check dimensions here http://www.brembo.com/ENG/catalogo_AM/2007/index.html

c32 is 345 mm, offset is 47.5 mm

srt6 or slk32 r170 is 330mm, offset is 46.4mm

330mm translates to just under 13" rotor so the rotor for the front would be bigger with the wilwood kit, also, using their billet forged superlite series caliper i would also expect that the front caliper would weigh less than the stock ones.

I just cant wait to be able to afford this kit. i think it would look sooo nice to see, Wilwood 6 Piston when someone looks at my brakes.

Tazz,

It appears as if only you and I are interested in these brakes.
If there is more interest then the kits will go forward if not then the price will go up. If we're the only two going for this, I'll let you know what the adjusted price will be.

I had crossdrilled brembo rotors stainless steel brakelines on my '04 and rotex pads I always stopped short !
They now have Crossdrilled rotors for SRT6s about $210-350 for fronts.

just bolt on the C32 rotors, there is no machining anything just slap them on your car. and get the proper caliper, DIY it for under $1200
