I'm posting this up early to prepare myself for the first time with this car for Fun Day on Sunday at Orlando Speedworld. I've drag raced my GTI many times, so I know the lights pretty well. I've read a lot about launching with this car on this site and can't wait to try it out. My question is the tires..... What is the lowest psi we can use before triggering the low pressure light? I have the stock PS2's and don't want to deal with the light so I'll keep it slightly above whatever the low is. Currently have it at 33 psi rear and 32 psi front, which is recommended inside the door for normal driving. I have to beat my GTI's best of 13.5. Thanks in advance and can't wait to post my heat soaked times. My only mods thus far are a 3" intake and deleted rear cats. I'm predicting around 13.3 with the temps in the low 90's. Maybe we should do a pool to see who knows my own car pretty well.

Man, was it hot out there today! The track had to be over 100 degrees. So The best times I posted today were...

Best 1/4 e/t - 13.241
Best 1/4 trap - 106.27

Best 1/8 e/t - 8.559
Best 1/8 trap - 82.50

Best 60' - 1.985

Stock PS2's couldn't handle preloading the car past 1200 rpms without spinning. So the best run was right at 1200 rpms.

Can't wait for the temps to come down and break into the 12's.

 

To all the peeps that have drag radials, give me details on size of rims and tires. I may have to invest in some to be able to launch harder than 1200 rpm's.
