Default Test and Tune- Atlanta Dragway

Just throwing this out there for the people in GA; I'm gonna be at basically every test and tune that Atlanta Dragway is having this year. Tonight's gonna be the first one and is from 6-11. Check out their website for the schedule for the rest of the year. I've heard good things about the track and it's one of the only 1/4 mile tracks anywhere near Atlanta.

Contact me if you're interested in going out any time this season. I'd love to meet some Crossfire guys and hang out.

Sounds fun, Jonathan, but the trick is getting the time off of work.
It would be worth a 3 hr drive for me to get a chance to say hey and make some runs. Have fun tonight.

Went to the track last night for the first time, and it was definitely an experience. First of all, I drove 2 hours to the track straight into the staging lanes and made a run a few minutes later. Raced a turbo'd Mazdaspeed 3 with 300 at the wheels and he finished first but my time was better. So that's a win I guess?? Half an hour later I went against the same guy again and absolutely smoked him. Traction is good. The first time I spun for 100 feet straight. Lowered the tire pressure and feathered the throttle and that helped a lot. My times weren't that great at all, but I blame that on the weather (90 or so at night!) plus I drove all the way there and didn't let it cool off at all before I ran.

On a positive note, no other streetcar laid down better times than the SRT. Except of course the street legal drag cars. All the cars you'd see driving down the road were slower and that made me feel better. 350Z's , modded Japanese Cars, and most of the hundreds of Mustang GT's were putting up anywhere from very high 13's to 15's. My best time was 13.140 at 107 which was disappointing, but all things considered it was fast for the conditions. I've gotta get a frickin ECU tune soon...

Given conditions and lack of experience I'd be happy with that time.

Wow, I have to commend you for getting out there and putting it on the track. My weather sucks here in the summer, but my track is only 5 miles away, and open usually 3 nights a week. You'll make new friends and have a blast.

Wow, 13.140 at 107 is very impressive in the heat. The ground temps were 100+ this past Sunday in Orlando and I was able to post a 13.2 @ 106 with just a CAI and deleted rear cats and it was also my first time out. Can't wait to head out again which will probably be the July 18th weekend GTG.

Very cool man. That's a great time considering your mods and the heat. I'm just wondering if you got any of the looks from the old musclecar guys, mustang guys, and honda tuners that I got. Kind of along the lines of "What's that toy car, and why is it here?" while they kinda smirked and studied it over. All the smirks were gone after it went down the track...

Good luck the rest of the season and getting into the 12's.

That is not a bad time in the heat and humidity even with your mods. These car's turn into completely different animals in 40 degree weather and no humidity. I am still waiting to see what mine will do this winter with new mods!

And I too do love the look and comments in the staging lanes after you have made a few passes. They are starting to get used to seeing these cars in the 12's at my track!
