Default bragging rights!

I was on my way home from work today and i ran into a 350z. i just installed my injectors and tune about a week ago and have been waiting to line up to one of these for a long time. after chasing around alittle we finally caught a red light. the guy was asking me what i got and all this and that.. i just told him it was 3.2l v6 and that his car was supposed to destroy it! when the light switched we slowly brought the cars up in first and i heard him nail it so i followed and it was neck and neck when i shifted 2nd he dropped back to my door then 3rd he was behind me! haha and what do ya know we caught the next light.. he didnt even look over at me but he was reving up alil to launch so i brought it up to about 3000 and when it turned green my car just took off burned out alil but i just shot past him by the time i was half into second he let off. i turned off to go the other way and he just gave me the piece sign and i gave him a thumbs uP! good story huh!!!

Nice kill! The 350Z guys are a little misinformed, and you educated him.

i have the tune, injectores and cai. but i havent really had a chance to really feel it and enjoy it. the weathers been really shitty over here right after i got my tune Tucson's monsoon season started. but i do definately notice a difference from 3500 up it feels much stronger. im not sure if it was an automatic but i believe it could have been. either way i was psyched!

Sweet kill. Maybe you should get little 350z silhouette stickers to put down your fender - one for each one "educated".

I've raced Automatic 350Z's and I'm bone stock.
I can't pull away from them but just stay pinned on each others door. The automatics have 280hp vs the 300hp manual Z's. from a roll I can down shift and pull away from the 350Z auto by about a fender length.

Maybe you can try racing a Lexus IS 350. now that will be interesting, they are way faster than the Z's

Why in the world would they make 2 different output cars, jsut based on tranny?. I know they did bump the output on the newer Z's (i believe 05+) from ~280hp to 306hp, maybe it's just hte older ones?.

From a roll a manual will typically take the jump faster than an Auto btu from a dig Autos will get the advantage

Stock you shouldn't be able to beat any 350z, auto or manual. They trap significantly higher then our cars. SO given a decent driver you should lose everytime, no questions asked.

With the TVT250 kit you have installed you should be trapping in the 98mph range, which makes a manual 350z race up to the driver, and an auto race a win.

Congrats on the race, hope all is going well with the new found power.

I was always under the impression that a N/A Crossfire even with all current mods could not kill a 350z??
So which is it??

you can't kill the 350Z auto, but he can't kill you either. they make anotherr 70hp, but they weight 500lbs more than us, and the aut trans sucks up more power than the manuals, so everything balances out.

I've does this numerous times, and its always a draw, same goes for the 350 Altima, can't beat them by more than a 1/2 a fender. always door to door from a stop light!

it's definatly a drivers race as the cars are fairly equal power to weight.

Our car can beat many a 350z, auto or manual, but we're far from stock. With the TVT250 upgrade you whould hang with a manual and beat an auto if the drivers are equal.

TVT250 Crossfire: 250 HP, 3100 lbs
350z: 308 HP, 3500 lbs

That's about an 18 HP difference in absolute perfect conditions. All driver at that point.

Do you go to SIR at all? I almost went for a national but didn't make it. You should hit a test n' tune night and see what you run. I know the weather sucks, but come winter it will be just right.

yea i do go there alot! been twice with my crossfire already. i havent had a chance to go with the injectors and tune because of the Monsoon season. they had a street night last weekened that got rained out! i actually want to head out toward you somtime and hit up firebird, i think i can pick up a couple tenths just from the elevation difference.

What's your best time there. I'm sure you would gain a few tenths just in elevation alone. You should hit the next points race at firebird raceway. It the 16th of Aug. You don't need to be a team member to race, and the sportsman class is for cars 12.00 to 17 secs. It's bracket racing so technically every race is heads up on your dial. You get 3 time trials and then run until eliminations. It's like $45 to race. I'm not sure I will make that one, but am racing this saturday at our final team race at Speedworld. Also will be running test and tune on friday night.

best time over here was 15.3 and that was without the tune and injectors. plus last time i went i ran 15.6 but had a better 60ft(weather got crappy) so im hoping in the winter to run 14s solid with the injectors and tune. i dont think ill make it to that race tho. money is tight right now. but i might go to a test and tune at SIR in another week its only 10 bucks to race.

That's quicker than a V6 mustang. Hopefully you pick up enough to get you in the 14's. You definately need a needswings intake to drop those numbers even more. This winter put down your best numbers and then intall the intake to see the difference. I know mine is sc, but that intake alone took me deep into the 12's. You should try and make it to speedworld sometime this winter. Maybe I can convince some of the other guys to race. Nobody races their crossfires out here. You should see a nice drop in your times, just due to elevation. Save them duckets and plan a trip. I'm heading out there one day, just not sure when. Sometime this winter hopefully.
