Default Formula 1 Racing

Any F1 fans on here? Its 11:30 and the dedicated fan I am here waiting for, not even the race, but just the practice session so I can watch it live! Its a pity that they canceled the USGP and Canadian GP races.

Big F1 fan here.

I've always been a Ferrari fan but they've blown it this year I think - too many mistakes, especically last round in Singapore when Massa was just walking away from everyone. Hamilton will take it all this year barring a major screw up from him or the team, like last year in China when the team left him out too long on badly worn tires. Everyone else had changed tires except Hamilton and he was lapping some 7 seconds a lap slower because of it. Bringing him in earlier would have cost him the race win, but salvaging just a couple of points would have given him the title. Instead they got greedy and left with nothing. In the end it bit them in the backside. He'll get it this time around though.

These new green striped tires are meh.

Ya its going to be a tight ending, I hope Massa and Hamilton lose out and Kubica wins.

But your right, Ferrari are slipping up way too much lately

I have been a F1 fan for lots of years. It's nice to have it on televsion. I used to have to wait for Road and Track to come out to get any info. I do record the races as they are on sunday mornings and that is my one day to work.

It was a great qualifying session. I have this feeling that Kimi will wreck into Hamilton before the end of the season. I will be watching the race live tonight and I can't wait.

Go Hami

If Kimi can ever so slyily knock Hamilton out making it look like an accident that would be great for Ferrari to have Massa win.

Bah, I hate McLaren, I like Hekki, but I hate Ron Dennis and I DESPISE Hamilton. Dont get me wrong, he's an amazing driver, but he's such a ****** to others and drivers dangerously.

Race starts in 15 minutes.

Live timing: http://www.formula1.com/services/liv...ing_popup.html

I have a chat going on AIM with a few friends about F1 right now, AIM me or anything if anyone is interested.

Ya, hehe, it was a interesting race last night. Congrats to Renault, it looks like they made their car competitive again, seems Alonso is staying where he is. And it looks like a 3 way race for the championship Kubica, Massa, Hamilton.

Maybe he can figure out the pit in for China this year, a week left to see... That gravel trap there will mock him till he screws up. He seems to always choke near the end when its soo close. I mean, thats judging on a limited time though.

Seems clear to me that Mr. Horse Face Alonso is an amazing driver. Winning the last two races in an inferior car. Being a Ferrari fan, I hated Alonso when he was with Renault (first time) and McLaren, but now I've become a fan. I'd love to see him in a Ferrari, as has been rumored, but they have committed to Kimi and Massa for the next two years.

I'm not quote sure how inferior the car is to be honest. Piquet wasn't doing half bad either. I think that Renault made some huge leaps and bounds lately.

Hamilton has too much a "go for it all" mentality when he doesn't need it. What the heck was that move at Turn 1 on the opening lap??? He went into that race needing nothing more than keeping Massa in his sights even if Massa finished ahead of him. So with Massa several places behind him on the grid he did not need to regain position by outbreaking everyone at Turn 1. Heck, if Massa hadn't bumped him later on, Hamilton was still going to be dealt that drive through for his actions at Turn 1 and that alone could be enough to screw his championship.

As far as China goes, I put last year down to his team having that same crazy all-or-nothing attitude for each race. They left Hamilton out far, far too long on those tires. He was lapping almost 7 seconds a lap slower than everyone else in changing conditions. Why would you prolong that? Why would you ask a driver (especially a rookie) to stay out in the rain with cords showing through the tire? Yes, he may have stuffed it on pit lane, but the fact he even made it to pit lane to begin with is a small miracle.

As for the penalties handed out in Japan - I think they all were wrong. Everything looked to me to be nothing more than racing incidents. Let these guys race for goodness sake! There's a championship at stake, these guys are paid millions of dollars a year, and they should be allowed to race!

I'm still rooting for Massa, but unless Hamilton & McLaren blow it again this year, he'll have a tough time winning the title. And again, due to the pit problems Ferrari has been having, it will be primarily the team's fault if Massa doesn't win it all, not his. Just like Hamilton last year.

Then again, it would just awesome for Kubica to sneak up from behind and grab all the glory at the last race. I'd enjoy seeing that.

How amazing would that be. Kimi stole it last year from Hamilton.
