Good day....bad day.....

The track was PACKED... Jr drags and everyone and his brother getting ready for tomorrows race....about 1hour 15 mins between runs. I got two runs and someone blew oil all over the track...took 3 hours to clean up.

First run....didnt get the DR warmed up enough...spun A LOT on launch and ran a 12.82 @ 113.1mph with 60' = 2.28, DA= neg 653'. What a waste of DA.

Run two... good burnout with hop at end...launch is GREAT, no spin...best run...12.07 @ 114.89mph with 60' = 1.79, DA= neg362'. Whooo hooooo!

Run three after 3 hours...good burnout and launch is Great again.. ran 12.19 @ 114.32mph with 60'=1.86, DA= 328'... felt something funny about 2/3 through the run...like a shift but wasnt...

Run four .... good burnout and launch...ran 12.31 @ 112.38mph with 60'=1.88, DA= 344'..

I had been checking my fan belt after run 1 & 2 and because I was looking to see if the longer belt(115.3) was going to slip. It looked fine. I checked it again after the big change on run 4 and I had belt slip. Looks like it was pretty good slipping too. That may be the funny thing I felt in run 3.

All in all a pretty good day. I didnt hit the 11's but we wasted most of the good air sitting around. My last two runs were at 4:42pm and 5:39pm at 63 degrees. It was in the 40's and 50's earlier. The DR's work great now that I know how to heat them up right. I was running 92 octane pump gas. I need to get a wrap kit and some 100/104 racing gas for the next time. I am sure I can break in the 11's with this setup now... more practice...

Phew, for now. Great job getting the launch down on your first time out with the stickys. Now I know your joking when talking about wasting the good DA. 400' above sea level is killer for the rest of us. My track isn't used to cold conditions we get slippery if it's in the 50's. That's a great staff there prepping the track. Give it a shot tomorrow. Is it a points race? Track should be even better. You have to enjoy all them sunny days you get.

Track prep was great today...PJ1/VHT before we started and then again after they did the oil clean up. Lots of cars running 7's to 9's all day. They did hold off starting this morning because the track was too COLD.. it got down to 29 deg last night... too bad I didnt get tech'd until about 11:30am... I could have gotten in two more runs in the cold morning air....
