Default Anybody else been to Skippy School?

I just finished the Skip Barber Advanced 2-Day Racing School at Watkins Glen. WOW! What a blast! I did the 3-Day Racing School last year at Road America and also had a fantastic time. The instruction was great, the tracks are awesome, and I like being able to beat on Skip Barber's cars and then walk away at the end of the day.

Next up for me is a Skip Barber lapping day at Mont Tremblant in July.

So, has anybody else here been to Skippy School?

Crikey! For $3,500, I think I'll pass.

Yeah, it's not cheap but it works for me. I'd never put my car on a track nor would I drive it 20+ hours to Watkins Glen or however many hours it is to Mont Tremblant. Now that I've completed the formula racing school, I can show up at a track with just my driving shoes and gloves. They'll give me a firesuit, helmet, and a car. I can pound out laps for a few sessions and then park the car and walk away.

I did the SRT Track Experience in '07 (read about it here) and realized I needed some instruction. Skippy school helped me a lot. I would not feel nearly as comfortable on track as I do now had I not taken these classes.

(BTW, I don't work for Skip Barber. I'm just a satisfied customer.)

It's totally worth it. I went to the formula school but they also have a Miata school. They teach the same things but the Miata school is probably more practical as it uses a road car.

Only two weeks until my lapping session at Mont Tremblant!
